I had heard Johnny Rotten (Smullen) was working on a restoration project.
Johnny is well known for carbon race builds.

Rumours abounded; That Johnny was on some secret DC project, building an AC or Volvo boat in SoCal. So thats what he's been up too!!!!

Anyone know what she is?? Real Purdy??

It was sitting at SDYC during the NOOD and has a presence in Wooden Boat mag.

She sure looks like an Eight Metre. With the worlds in North America this year a number of new boats have been built and some old ones restored. As a current owner of an Eight I have not heard any rumours about DC participating this summer but it would be great to know as it would bring some international press to the event.

Just an idea since someone asked.

BJ,

Thanks for the link.

Interesting reading on a beautiful historic vessel. Nice to see her restored.

Have to say; Great job to DC, Bill, Johnny and the crew.

Have raced on most of the old 12's. Would love to get a chance to race on CB, now that would be a blast!

Wiz, Johnny looks good doesn't he? Even has a lovely girlfriend who loves to sail. Life seems good for him right now without the pressure of an AC campaign.

Didja see DC had Mick Harvey and Mothy on board for the Cabo race?

No, not Trenkle. No wheel either, it's a tiller and whomever's furthest back in the boat is trimming main, halyards all tie off to a cleat, no turning blocks at the base of the mast, French-made wood blocks for the main and jib...everything true to it's original configuration except the mast is much taller - the main is enormous! One damn fine yacht...

Got an AC sponsor in your pocket? If so, I'm sure he can find some room for you. Other than that, you'd really have to pick up your skill level... :o
