OK I don't know too many of the sailors (too many of them) but have at it. Who's gonna win or crash and burn.

The funny thing about it really is that all can win or crash and burn. It's in the game...

But to your question, the favorites for protos definitely are:
- Isabelle Joschke (Finot proto, Speng!)
- Peter Laureyssens (the same)
- Yves le Blevec (Lombard design)
- Alex Pella (on one of the most expensive Minis to date (that's what they say, at least...))

Series:
- Francisco Lobato
who else???

Others for the podium in proto:
- Clay Burkhalter
- Andraz Mihelin
- David Sineau
- Adrien Hardy (on ex Karen Liquid #198)
- Aloys Claquin

Just my 2 cents really.

Cheers
LT

Ah well, not to forget... thumbs up for "my" Mini participants: Dominik Zürrer and Henrik Masekowitz :D

Proto:
I hope Joschke one, but i think it will be a non top favourite.
Like Andraz or Kristian. THey know its their last go for it.
Adrian is possible too.
Yves will probably not start, still fourth on waiting list...
Alex did not sail much this year in races...
Manuard can be dangerious..
Peter, i do not know if he can keep up the pace, when he did series it was much easier.

So its going to be a nail biter... best level ever seen...

Serie,
Lobato or VanEsch

Okay, Leo, forgot about Sam Manuard... and Koen VanEsch seems to be hot in series, agreed.

Count Yves out then.

Go Isabelle!! I cannot WAIT for this race. I'll be holding my breath for her all the way across the ocean!
I am going to have a big party when she wins.
Luckily, she's actually the one I feel I have to "hold my breath" for least! That's what she's best at- keepin' it together.
Go girl!

I think Sam Manuard will be right up there, but I do think Andraz is her best competition. It's easy to forget about him after this season, but he'll be right back at the front when he takes the line again.

I think Peter will do well. I love those Finots.

Who are the USAnians in the race? I know Burkhalter did fairly well on the circuit last year.

Yves Le Blevec is in the port des Minimes in La Rochelle ready to start if there is a place for him. I really hope he races as he has had a brilliant season (1st place after Transgascogne) and it would be a great race with him and Isabelle and Peter.

I accidently erased my previous post, so once again.........

GO CLAY!

(and yes, I'm a typical "Yank" in some respects, but I DO know what a spanner, a torch, and a kicker are!)

But him.
Andy Abel unfortunately will not take part this year, as his boat was shredded on the rocks in the Les Sables - Azores - Les Sables last year. Back this year with a new boat, but not qualified :(
So he's going for next time.

Oh, real outsider could be Haize. He did well in the last MT on a serie, till he forgot to round the Cape Verde correctly :)
Or Cusin, or Sineau, or Clay, or ... the list is long.

Hell bend on winning this MT are:
Pella
The Slovenians Hansjek and Andraz.

And again, its a long long long race...

Classe Mini added 5 more boats today. Alex Mevay of Boston on Genasun was accepted.

Alex has a 2000 Pogo 1. See more about his program at www.genasun.com.

Maaaaaate, I was on the waiting list for this puppy. Gutted not to be going but stoked for the boys and girls that are! I will be watching every step of the way, maybe even pretending I was there.

I wish all the skippers a safe and rewarding journey.

Some more rewarding than others of course! :)

Especially the Aussies, Nicko Brennan and Tom Braidwood. GO HARD BOYS! GO HARD!!

Raeffer, would you have made it ?
I know the CM really hinted to you that they would have more places.. they added in total 15 or so ?
That with a couple of wild cards not being filled... was 17.
You were 20th on the list ?

Of to LR tomorrow late.... anyone has a sleeping place ? :)
