Decision made! Jump was awarded Boat of the Year yesterday at the annual ICRA conference in Cork. I understand it was a close run thing between herself and two other nominees Chieftain and Cavatina. What seems to have swung it was Cavatina's record was based on her sailing history over a number of seasons - Fastnets, Round Irelands etc and this was considered to be outside the idea of a Boat of the Year award. Chieftain's Fastnet win was very difficult to ignore but it seems that her lack of appearances in Irish waters told against her. In the end it came down to Jump's season long winning campaign - racing from April to November in top regattas at home and abroad her CV was unmatched - a worthy winner to join the list of former winners including Voodoo Chile, Antix and Chieftain.

Well done to Jump, a deserved winner.
What was the talk about the Com Cup like? Have the teams been decided and what boats are they using?

Jeez wasn't listening too closely - afternoon session - and Tim Costello fed me too much wine over lunch - kinda dozed off a bit!
Story is - Green Team decided - 3 new Mills designs No Naked Flames, Blondie and Tiamat. No Naked en route for Miami and Key West [and Miami Week] as we speak. Idea is to practice a little ass-kickin on our US cousins before coming back to ICRA Nats, Scotland and RCC. Tiamat under construction and not sure what stage new Blondie is at.
White Team decided but waiting to finalise big boat - looking in interesting places from what I hear - so watch this space <_<
Next team still not off the blocks - but strong team expected here as well - you know the score - don't even tell themselves what they are thinking
Big news - at least it was around 1.00 am in Counihans - a serious corinthian effort for the final spot - have to wait to see if the morniong after effect will apply here.
That's it - worth the visit!
