      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

FIFA 18 The Journey: Hunter Returns Walkthrough

The Trip this year is separated into six Chapters, plus a short Prologue in the beginning. Below you'll find our own walkthrough pages for each step of the method:

Aside from those specific pages, read on below for a more common explanation of how The Journey works, in addition our tips to bear in mind as you play.

What you should know about The Trip: Hunter Returns - rewards, length, available clubs

Whilst we haven't been able to try out through The Journey sufficient times to decipher the outcome of every single decision and overall performance, we do know the entire structure and several various conclusions to the story of Alex Hunter. We'll start with the fundamentals:

§ What do you do within the Journey? - The Journey involves a mix of training exercises, matches, conversations, and cutscenes, with a bit of Tweet feed checking tossed in. You'll divided your playing period roughly 50-50 between training and matches, whilst conversations just happen sporadically, such as after man from the match performances or at significant milestones and story-driven occasions.

§ Does Alex Hunter improve over time? - Yes, actually it's the main connect that keeps you interested in playing with regard to longer, outside of the story itself. As you teach and perform well in matches, Hunter's individual attributes like Short Passing, Finishing, and so on - and thus their Overall rating - will gradually improve. Each time your Overall rating goes up a level, you will also receive a number of Skill Points to spend upon individual Traits. Unlocking one of buy fifa 18 coins these will either increase a particular attribute by a few levels, or grant a Trait much like all those on standard gamers, like Swerve Moving or five star Skill Moves.

§ What clubs can you perform for in The Trip? - In Hunter Returns, you have the choice of either actively playing starting off by actively playing for the same club you started at in the original Journey, through importing your aged Alex Hunter, you might as well choose your Leading League club through starting a fresh conserve. Bear in mind though which, minor spoilers forward, this won't be your club forever!

§ How do you 'win' or 'lose' The Trip? - We'll get into this in more detail just below, but in brief there isn't a clear case for 'winning' or completing The Trip in one specific method. Generally, your goal is to balance popularity with your manager, and popularity with your 'followers'. Keeping them both happy will mean you are able to continue along your journey for as long as feasible, with the greatest feasible outcome for Alex (ad this time their friends and family, too). Creating them significantly unhappy will result in reduced actively playing time and, eventually, the end of the street for Alex Hunter, so basically just attempt to win everything to get the best ending.

Just how much do your decisions and conversations affect the story in The Trip - Honestly, not very much. Generally different conversation options will affect that cutscene by which they occur, but have next to absolutely no repurcussions down the line. The only thing to bear in mind is your manager's opinion of you and your follower count - hitting specific numbers of followers trigger unlocks to your character's appearance, and keeping your manager pleased keeps you in the first team (although this can be done with good performances alone). Otherwise, we found which whether you offered a diplomatic press interview or informed your bratty rival where to shove it didn't do anything at all for the story most importantly aside from make which cuscene dialogue perform out a little differently.

How long is The Trip? - The Trip lasts around twenty hours at most, which includes performing each training session and match by hand without simulating anything at all, and achieving the longest possible story arc. The Trip will finish in late the season - in late May - in the latest.

Can you fall short The Journey? - Yes. If you performances dip too low - say you get a couple of 6/10s in a row - then no matter your standing in the very first team, you'll start getting hints that you need to buck your ideas upward, before your manager eventually tells you which enough is enough and you need to reload a youthful save to progress.

What rewards are there with regard to playing The Trip? - The Trip offers players a number rewards, which are earned simply by playing through the story one section at a time. You'll get set FUT financial loan players depending on the section, along with a Danny Williams card and Alex Hunter card, permanently, for your FUT squad near the end from the Journey. Check out the individual pages linked above for each chapter's specific rewards.

Can you obtain injured in The Trip, and what happens if you undertake? - Yes you are able to, however if it happens by accident then it never actually guidelines you out for a game. There's also a specific scripted event which affects the story, but we won't jump any further here - read through our section guides above if you want to know!

Other advice you should know before actively playing The Journey: Hunter Returns in FIFA 18

Throughout The Trip, you'll find that you're incentivised to do a couple of things: maintain the manager happy, and get more followers. It's not made totally clear why you'll want to do this though, or how exactly those things are affected, so we've put together a few tips about getting a happy gaffer and healthy fanbase, alongside some common tips for success within the Journey story mode.

§ Social media followers, manager happiness, and money are all connected together. Fiery replies in publicly-broadcast conversation will get you more followers, whilst awesome options in any scenario the manager is aware of will make him more happy. A happy manager is key to getting more game time, which you may need to do if you want to perform every game and get the longest feasible playthrough, whilst followers are key in order to unlocking specific cutscenes.

§ It's possible, but to achieve everything without worrying about our own dialogue. Whilst coaching performance only impacts your manager's opinions of you, match up performance affects both. Training well and racking up the objectives and cheap fut 18 coins assists within the pitch will make both your manager and fans happy - in fact we divided our reponses evenly between fiery, awesome, and balanced, but still maxed out manager happiness and indexed sponsorships through strong performances on the pitch. Letting your soccer do the talking is all you need to do.

§ If you discover in-game performances difficult - and they could be at times - then you can certainly of course tweak the chance for success by opting for cooler responses in dialogue options, keeping your manager pleased enough to play you. Manager happiness is much more important than followers, ultimately, as he's the one who decides whether you're kept, sold, played, or left on the bench.

As a general suggestion, it's worth noting that the in-game digital camera angle can be changed. We thought the 'Be a Pro' angle was alone, which is incredibly uncomfortable to deal with at times, until we logged upon on a different PS4 to see the digital camera angle was back to the normal one, as if you'd selected to try out as a team instead of just Hunter. Pop into the settings to change it.

A few will find playing because Alex Hunter in matches it much easier than playing as the whole team, with regards to getting a good rating. You might be used to actively playing as a team, but it can worth learning to conform to playing as just Hunter. Aside from just being a nice breathing of fresh air from standard FIFA game play, controlling just Alex allows you to significantly affect how often this individual gets on the ball and affects the game. You can drop deep in order to win it back again from the computer that is still focused on posession on higher issues, and likewise build up perform through you through calling for it and working it ahead. Teammate decisions can be wonky, but it can still much easier than relying on a 71-rated Alex Hunter's AI to get him in to good positions for your pass in team-control mode.

You can instruct other players to perform most actions you could if controlling them as a team normally. Threaded through balls, lob passes, airial through balls, shots, shutting down players, and much more are all available because commands to your teammates through 'shouting' in them as Alex Hunter. Simply press the button you normally would if controlling them to instruct the AI to perform an action. Understanding this is enormously ideal for success on the field.

That being said, playing together can make life considerably easier when it comes to working with your Strike Partner, as you can control them and the team just a little better in the build-up phases to set up the best assists at the right times.

Spend skill points wisely. It can unlikely, if not difficult, that you'll earn sufficient skill points in order to unlock everything. With that in mind, think about your playstile and your position. Hunter's Penalties, for instance, start down in the forties or 50s - is spending precious Skill Points in order to level that up to the mid 50s worth it when you could be including extra pace, stamina, passing, and five-star skill moves?
