      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

  1. That would make sense, wouldn't it? Langley has the big $$$$$ and Pounds Benny needs and Benny has the Team, Sailors, etc. to challenge. That also would tell us that commerical sponsorship alone (Land Rover) wouldn't be enough getting to the Starting Line.
  2. Why should Stingray support ETNZ when they handed around 70% of their Keys over to that crappola named P$B?
  3. Stingers, What do you think? If British billionaire Tony Langley is IN does that mean Land Rover BAR (Ben Ainslie) is OUT? I find that very odd not combining everything under one sole British Banner Challenger.
  4. Leg 2 Lisbon to Cape Town Sailing Instructions http://www.volvooceanrace.com/static/assets/content_v2/media/files/m45693_si-leg-02-add-20170919.pdf
  5. Leg 1 Alicante to Lisbon Sailing Instructions http://www.volvooceanrace.com/static/assets/content_v2/media/files/m45692_si-leg-01-add-20170919.pdf VOR Race Control has 4 !!!! different Courses varying from 1700 nm (longest) to 1100nm (shortest) The Target Duration for this first Leg is 7-8 Days.
  6. Are you really so naive to think Oracle spent less money trying to defend compared to BAR & Artemis who tried to win it? No way my friend. Oracle spent more money than those two that I am pretty convinced off. AND the way AC 36 has begun to be structured (Thanks to Mr. P$B) no way in hell will 120 Million Euros be enough to put forward a credible Challenge who can win.
  7. How about using your brain/head Mr. WetHog? Ken Read has already done two Cups and two Volvos. The guy is 56 years old. The AC has become a young man's Game these Days. While the Foiling Monos will be somewhat slower than the Cats we had in AC 34 & 35 they will still be too fast for a 56-year old guy to handle it at the Helm IMO? The only role I can see Ken Read having is potentially CEO like Russell did in AC 34. And for my liking he's much better doing TV Commentary than stepping onto a Sailboat himself these Days.
  8. I think the new AC 36 Boat will look similar than the VOR foiling monohull Guillaume Verdier & his Team are building for 2019/2020. Proof.... http://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=11910113 It's an older article but I wouldn't be surprised if the new AC 36 Class will look similar to this one.
  9. Australian Challenge looking more likely... So what Options does Jimmy have? Australian Challenge CEO? Like Russell did for Oracle in 2013? Handing the wheel & Tacticians Keys over to Slingers (Tact.) and Nathan Outerridge (Helm)?
  10. I wish you & Ben were right BUT at this Point I'm not convinced about anything. I'm not sure BA has 100% funding for AC 36 cuz the Budget will probably quite a bit higher than in AC 35. Until I see an Article on their Website that says something like "Land Rover BAR has its Challenge accepted by the RNZYS for America's Cup 36" I'm not convinced that there IN just yet.
  11. Americans having 3 Challengers like prolly Clean claims is blatant wrong.
  12. The Michigan challenge doesn't have the money so stop talking about nonsense.
  13. That might the reason they have Pre-AC Racing in 2019/2020 to eliminate the Top Teams from the Bottom Teams. Next month I can watch finally some proper Racing again when the VOR starts If this years edition is as close as last time I've some sleepless Nights
  14. I trend to agree. While AC 32 for example was spectacular Areva, + 39, UITG and China Team were just making up Numbers. I'd rather have 5 or 6 Challengers who are really good providing close Racing than 8-10 Teams with the bottom 4 only making up Numbers.
  15. Stingers, Luna Rossa IMO has been given too much leverage over AC 36 for my liking. What do you think?
