    VOR '17-'18 - THE GAME

Place: 230th Distance: 664.5 NM Time: 1d 15h 6m 2s I've only ever finished under 1k during a leg, once, in the previous two VORGs I've competed in. This time around I had multiple finishes inside 500, by far the most successful VORG I've competed in. Shout out to the scorekeepers, thanks making the event fun for the SA community. Also, thank you to any SA members anywhere near me 100 NM from the finish, I always knew I had a race on my hands...all the way to the finish. I have a few points of reflection about Virtual Regatta but I'll save that for another post.

Was only going to post it, if I beat ya' but...can't let my sub-par meme go to waste.

After taking leg 8 off (kinda) it took bit of discipline to stay on top of boat maneuvers. Had a decent race up until the last 100nm. Place: 891st Distance: 2939.1nm Time: 7d 22h 5m 6s Congrats to the winners, and as always, a special thanks to our scorekeepers.

The next 12 hours are crucial. One of the boats running the northern edge of the channel could steal this race.

363 Overall 19d, 20h, 39m, 59sec 6615.5 NM sailed Of all the legs I've raced in the last 3 installments of VORG, this was arguably the most annoying. It was definitely not a 'rich get richer' kinda leg until the approach on NZ; there was better air behind or to the lee for most of the race. Thanks Shorthanded a.k.a. The King of Michigan, for keeping the standings updated throughout. p.s. fuck the doldrums

Indeed. I've been exchanging friendly rivalry messages with JazzyGear as well. I've got my eye on XC Race and Zezo. It would seem they are looking to pass Malaita outside, which is what I was trying to avoid. I may need to reevaluate. Indecision may or may not be my problem.

This. Yeah, my original intention was to gybe across 3S and attempt move south around 175W. I was watching Marcusbelgicus fall off with presumable the same idea until they went stealth. So I went stealth, which is kinda funny to me now...it's not like I'm so great at this game that people are dying to see what I do next. I see Rainbow Spirit and Gybe Turkey followed through, I hope it works out for them. The racing between 10S and 30S is going to be brutal for both groups. Mom and Stufishing's Pacific Grand Tour route looks better each passing moment.

Stuck in the middle with you.

Clowns to the left of me, jokers on the right....here I am stuck - racing down the middle of the two prevailing groups for the 4th leg in a row and will most likely get screwed because I didn't commit and spent the last week of the leg hedging my bets. Wait, that's not how that song goes.

After careful consideration we've decided to take Zorro off the evening helm shift. His shenanigans proved costly last night. Reminder to self: Double-check course and close VR app before sliding device into pocket.

Looking at the initial course settings of the top 50 boats, I count 10 of them heading east. I'm sure some them are trolling but it could get interesting.

Congrats Stu... While I wasn't racing with the lead pack, I had some very tight racing with my pack Magool and A-Squared (From The Rail), right to the end. prettyhatemachine 19d 1h 18m 59sec / 7863.2 nm sailed / Place: 862
