      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

  1. D Zero

Sosoomii and monkeyman, I've got a D Zero and live/work in the Bath/Bristol area, currently a member of South Cerney SC. I'd be keen to sail D Zeros together too....
  2. rs aero

sounds like he needs to start smoking and join the cool kids.... at the back of the bus. as I said, I've not sailed it on the salt, so it's just supposition, but I would love to give it go somewhere like Lyme Regis or something. He said you could sit almost off the back of the dzero and it still went nose in! Good luck trying it at Lyme - you will be on your own after half a season. Oh and he is way cooler and better sailor than the cool kids :-/ I test sailed the zero in very strong wind at Queen Mary SC (photos on Suntouched website). In a big gust while sailing downwind the nose was pushed down but the boat remained stable, kept moving and didn't submarine, unlike the RS300 I used to sail ;-). I have no experience of the Zero on the sea in waves though......
  3. D Zero

ChuckLinn, re 'Probably best to let the topic drop - just trying to provide things for the developer / community to think about. ' in your last post. The D Zero is now in production (I have one :-)) and is a 'one design' so, apart from minor changes that the class rules might permit when published, 'development' is not something that I am expecting. If grab rails can offer a competitive advantage then I would be concerned about their introduction ;-) Btw I never used the grab rails when I sailed lasers and I haven't noticed their absence on the D zero (but I haven't capsized mine yet).
  4. D Zero

Extra 1cm for droopy bum sounds good :-)
  5. D Zero

Jimbo (I think), re your comment "production boat is going to have the boom raised slightly (3cm- so not much) and there will be a bit more freeboard- I guess a bot more volume too by association. I hope not too much though, it sits so nicely in the water as it is.". Are you sure about this? I sailed the boat last weekend and understood that the hull design is frozen for production?! The boom height was fine for me but I'm only 77kg and 1.8m.
