      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

  1. Korean War to end.

Are those rice bowls or satellite dishes under their hats? WTF? We could take out their senior leadership with one giant Wie E Coyote magnet.
  2. F@#%ing Mice in car anarchy.

They chewed 14 wires on my boats brand new motor, a bunch on the ECU. They got in my Honda Pilot 3 times, each one dying in a dying a horrible death in the heater fan. I don’t fuck around now, I’m not taking chances. The motor home lives in a new steel vault.
  3. Korean War to end.

    Ted Kaczynski!?
  4. Korean War to end.

    A little South Korean perspective.
  5. Plane Engine Explodes Kills Passenger

Looks like GE had previously warned the FAA of the possibility of an uncontained forward ejection of debris from a fan failure. Nothing is going to contain that.
  6. Plane Engine Explodes Kills Passenger

Just in case there is anyone who hasn’t seen it.
  7. Plane Engine Explodes Kills Passenger

I’ve known flight attendants that couldn’t describe a problem with a coffee maker. It’s always amazed me. I wonder if the one of the pilots communicated anything to the passengers like “hey were going to be ok, this situation is the focus of a lot of intense training, the aircraft is mostly healthy, we’re landing soon, yada yah... I know it’s intensely busy up there but you know...
  8. Plane Engine Explodes Kills Passenger

True. I meant all the stress in addition to everything she felt and saw from das blinkin lights. Hats off to her.
  9. Plane Engine Explodes Kills Passenger

She did her job well. The pilot is, after all, usually the first to arrive at the scene of the accident. It hard to imagine the sudden stress level brought on by reports from the cabin that there are holes in the airplane and parts missing. We get our moneys worth from all of our “ice water in the veins” Naval Aviators, to be sure.
  10. Plane Engine Explodes Kills Passenger

AKA fake it till you make it.
  11. i have the perfect video that shows life on SA

Yes a country theme... “The loud mouth in the corner's gettin' to me Talking 'bout my earrings and my hair I guess he ain't read the signs that say I been to prison Someone ought to warn him 'fore I knock him off his chair”
  12. Plane Engine Explodes Kills Passenger

The fan looks to be intact. If a blade came loose you would probably see the leading edges and tips of the others damaged some. Also the compressor section looks like it didn’t grenade through the blanket based on the cowling, it looks popped and bent from the airstream, but not holed. I’m thinking the intake cowl shook off for some reason, probably a compressor blade, and smashed the fuselage. Boeing iron. My little brother flies the 700 for SWA, I’ll get the story.
  13. Plane Engine Explodes Kills Passenger

I think I heard her head and arm were outside, it’s possible she may have been belted in.
  14. Plane Engine Explodes Kills Passenger

Could be light but the clip on the lower right looks bent, the one at 3 o’clock is dislodged, though the rest are not as bent as you would think but they’re spring steel. I assume the window went out for sure, and it would only have to turn a little in the opening to pop, I think.
  15. Plane Engine Explodes Kills Passenger

I think there have been many uncontained failures. The Kevlar blanket was mandated after people died awhile back.
  16. Plane Engine Explodes Kills Passenger

Oddly she was not in the plane of rotation of the compressor. Her window appears to be about 10 rows back and behind the wing. My guess is something went up over the wing like the cowl and struck the fuselage, knocking out the window. They are only held in by small metal clips from the inside and are held firmly in place by cabin pressure. A blow from the outside could dislodge it. Just a hunch.
  17. Korean War to end.

To be fair though, soak kept his avatar the same, and I never forget a face.
  18. Korean War to end.

You’ll always be soaked to me, no mater what you decide to call yourself.
  19. Korean War to end.

If its true I’m very happy for the Korean people. This is great news.

  22. DTS, R. Lee Ermey

That’s why they make Marine Corps boot camp so damn easy, so anyone can do it. Athletic Petty officer. You guys have some funny rank structure in the Navy. They had a special place in Hell for prior service in boot camp.
  23. DTS, R. Lee Ermey

Regarding PT in the fleet, it is a whole different thing than PT in boot. It doesn’t take superman, but it does take a bit of “digging”...
