Windward. The place and the man doing that? We just call it being out on the rail, don't think there is a one word that fits it all in. In my area is called " trash " or " junk" !

Thanks for that,I was told that 15kg of difference in the mast weight is almost a man sitting on the upwind side of the boat ( how you call that place in one word in English???)

i had to trace the spars cross-section for the designer think it was something similar 165 x 105mm. If i go for a new spar it'll be a z spars section Z351 it weighs 2.305 lbs/ft (3.430kg/m) interestingly the old proctor spar is lighter; 2.244lbs/ft, (3.339kg/m) hope that helps mate. Thanks Roger, I am seeking to replace it cause is too thick for its lenght = stiff. In case i can't replace it , i was wondering those extra 15-20 kg of weight if they have a much bad (simple bad is certain) impact on the way she sails.

Roger, what is your new mast section dimensions & weight-kg/m? Mine is a 17-11 cm section about 4,2 kg/m and length 10m.

I am one man upgrading a Pembroke (single keel Centaur). The sail plan is upgraded with 2 jibs and 2 genoas, 2 sym spinakers and a full battened main. Keel isn't upgraded , just restored in a very smooth finishing. As about rudder going to tubercles is something exotic to me cause , first i haven;t heard before about it neither seen and second it seems hard to manufacture it- (nope buying it isn't an option)

I thought TP52's had died a death. I ll post the conclusions and hopefully the improved rudder pictures here again!

Roger, I moved my question to a new topic to stop implement irrelevant data for your restoration story

Oh God! What kind of a shape is this???? from a whale? Got it , I ll grab a harpoon and hunt down a marine mammal and take it's tale, pure nature. Eco friendly without synthetic resins and fibers!

Sorry, my english aren't sharp enough to understand . " Get that point of"? Pfffff ! I just wanted my rudder built taller and know i m studying fluid dynamics! At the bottom finish should the profile stays the same or it would be better to round it a little bit?

I think a lot of the awefulness is just the sketch Bob, at least I hope so. The numbers looked nicer than the sketch. I thought stock diameter often ends up being a practical limitation on the thinness of rudders, particularly the high aspect racy ones? What was that magic number for placement of the stock in a balanced rudder again, 17%? Ranti, the scetch was created by stepping the rudder bottom on a piece of carton and then drawing the perimeter with a pen, real size. Bob, wow, i checked your site and i think i almost insulted you saying " as i can tell you are involving in yacht design right? " ... you are a designer! Roger, my skills i believe aren't good enough for making a new one , so i ll try improving the existing, i ll bring up more measurements of it. I am just wondering if i cant make it better

Thanks a lot for the info! But the rudder has already it's original shape and i was thinking to add some on it's bottom . If the original shape is different from your suggestion ( NACA 00XX) what should i do? maybe CFD can help?
