      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

  1. VOR '17-'18 - THE GAME

For the record: Blitzquart 594th 7167.7 nm 16d 3h 32m 36s a big thank you to the scorekeepers and all competitors!
  2. VOR '17-'18 - THE GAME

There should be a way to pause the game for the weekend and for holidays. I can only keep up at work. There is too much going on on weekends and holidays (going out, parties, invitations, girls, children, preparing the ship for the season, and much more. Annoying!)
  3. VOR '17-'18 - THE GAME

Had lunch with a lovely young lady yesterday evening and did‘t bother about routing for about 8 hours. Cost me some miles, but was worth it...
  4. VOR '17-'18 - THE GAME

Maybe I should rethink the routing and throw Zezo overboard...
  5. VOR '17-'18 - THE GAME

Blitzquart: 1191 st 6'302.0 nm 20d5h17m22s I climbed up a few ranks at the end, but I couldn't make up for the bad strategy in the doldrums....
  6. VOR '17-'18 - THE GAME

That happened to me this morning with the badly placed jibe...
  7. VOR '17-'18 - THE GAME

@ Mom, Stufishing, Mudsailor et. al.: what exactly are you still doing up there?
  8. VOR '17-'18 - THE GAME

    Mom is covering me...
  9. VOR '17-'18 - THE GAME

Mom! Does the zezo-Routing calculates with the 4 kt minimum wind speed or with the original GFS forecast? Thx.
  10. VOR '17-'18 - THE GAME

Interesting moment. Following Zezo (like so many others) or continuing my course into the Coral Sea?
  11. Sydney to Hobart 2017

I must commend the jury. The verdict is correct and crystal clear. And everyone with even very little knowledge of the rules but some common sense must come to the same conclusion. And the verdict makes it clear enough that the actual punishment would have been a disqualification. In an act of mercy (and probably in honor of the sailing performance) the penalty was reduced to one hour.
  12. VOR '17-'18 - THE GAME

Congrats to Your Mom and the other leaders in our group. I have completly fucked up this leg. Always on the bad side of the track and always with a bad timing of the gybes...
  13. VOR '17-'18 - THE GAME

All right, the sleigh ride's starting. Approximately 620 nm in the next 24 hours.... My navigator has once again overslept a change in the forecast and placed the boat to far north. Fuck, already more than 10 nm behind the zezo pack...
  14. VOR '17-'18 - THE GAME

Merde. Have to rethink my whole strategy. So far I have always tried to change course almost never...
