      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

  1. University of Colorado Sailing Team

Great idea about reaching out to the editor. They posted a little story on us yesterday and even chipped in to our campaign.
  2. best new foiler for beginner?

Heard those AC-72s are pretty easy to get the hang of
  3. University of Colorado Sailing Team

We're actually headed out to galveston at 10pm tomorrow to race this weekend. Not looking forward to the drive but if the weather holds out for us it should be a good time. Good idea to pool resources with other schools but we're still trying to build a solid base for ourselves before including anyone under the sun
  4. University of Colorado Sailing Team

We tried to make it to the park city annual regatta last year but had a couple last minute issues prevent it! pm me with a good email to contact you at and let's try to set up some sort of scrimmage. We have 6 420s as well (no chase boat, that's the purpose of the campaign), but hopefully soon that will change and we can host yall as well! Hey man, 2 threads = twice the views. Shameless advertising tactics but desperate times call for desperate measures
  5. University of Colorado Sailing Team

Good to know... We're a hybrid right now, we're trying to generate interest in sailing in general as well as make a name for ourselves as a collegiate racing program. Mainly due to weird school rules and bs red tape we cant do any sort of tryouts or mandatory practice days so we have to make it more inclusive. Hopefully soon we can separate into 2 separate organizations to handle both classes of sailors.
  6. University of Colorado Sailing Team

I really appreciate it! Next time you're in Colorado be sure to give us a call and we'll show you first hand what we have going on! We've been on union res recently since they do a couple regular races each week. Unfortunately it's more of the dead calm than howling wind but beggars can't be choosers I guess I've been pretty active on Dillon the past couple years trimming in the J/24 fleet and we've built up a good relationship with Brandon Kass of community sailing as well as union sailing club up in Longmont. I'll definitely reach out to those other guys and see what kind of support I can stir up! Is there a crew forum or anything for S20's? A lot of people on the team are looking for opportunities
  7. A case against colored lines?

I'm a fan of colors if only for the fact that they can prevent a mishap during races. Especially in the event lines get wrapped up and tangled, it'd be pretty tough to work with 3 black lines all mixed together. Plus there're some pretty sweet colored ones out there nowadays
  8. For all the Colorado sailors out there (few and far between, I know) yall may be interested to know that a group of students has started up a sailing team at CU Boulder. We're a really new organization and dont get much help from the university so we're looking for community support to help us raise money and spread awareness for our team. 10. what's wrong with this picture

No foils = people on land dont give two shits
  11. Oceanfront property in Arizona

Looking for crewing opportunities this coming summer in Tucson. Seems like that's a dead time for most clubs so any opportunities are much appreciated
  12. Looking for J24 Crew Lake Champlain Area

Where will the travel races be? I have several large J/24 regattas under my belt as a trimmer, including this past North Americans. Located in Colorado unfortunately, it's hard to find good opportunities to sail.
  13. Good boats for pre-teens

In one or two years, they'll be about ready to start phasing into a hobie. These will most definitely "go go go" when it starts blowing, but at that young you'll have to make sure they know what they're doing on it as they can be pretty tough to right in heavy wind when they go over. The 16 is an unreal amount of fun, I've been on them my whole life
  14. Where you tie fenders?

Cabintop winches work well if you've got em
  15. NFL 2017

The Mannings almost had it. Peyton, Eli, Cooper, but cooper hurt his neck/back and now nobody could care less about him
