    Boats and foils comparison

Max, if you were forced to bet $20 then on which boat would you put it, performance-wise? Is it wind-pressure related, or not?

Since the Ineos thread has apparently been frack’ed by the Ed..

In case I missed it being posted earlier, some interesting comments by BA and GS are in this one too
  5. By my reading (happy to be corrected) LR wanted the 120 hr Measure-in deadlines to follow whatever delays happen to ‘the first scheduled race date’ but ETNZ refused? And that maybe a ‘compromise’ was reached, on sail declarations? https://qbnoxrpwoa4367c43qcjn7p2pe-adwhj77lcyoafdy-www-oasport-it.translate.goog/2021/03/americas-cup-luna-rossa-muove-gli-avvocati-come-azione-di-disturbo-sulle-operazioni-di-stazza/?refresh_ce

    AC36 - The Match

As I said, Draper is among those who addressed PB’s bad starts in the December ACWS. The ‘Sailing Professor’ Orams has done so too at length.. it’s not like PB nailed any one of those starts! As to Sicilia and Sardegna, and about if I know Xlot, who has even been an honored guest of mine? Please feel completely free to go ahead and stick that one up your ass too!

That freaking rocks! Awesome, thank you
  8. Or after ‘Cinderella’? I listen to news and current-events across a variety of channels, BBC included and so I will claim to be fairly aware. And to be honest, there is no national leader that I admire more for dealing with this f’ing pandemic over the past year, than Jacinda Adern. Rock solid!
  9. Oops, I forgot.. in her previous career I think it was ‘Candy’? I may have been mistaken about her current nickname.
  10. I fully support Cindy’s efforts, the possibility to keep a lid on it is.. brilliant for peoples’ health and safety. The risk implications, financial and otherwise, make this path the best one for ‘team NZ.’
  11. Should LR care? Their ‘Prada’ (main team and AC36 event sponsor) audience is all watching it on TV..

Seems he already earned a grinder position, in NZ.

A bartender I got to know on Campo dei Fiori (Roma) was from Puglia and the other staff made a lot of fun of his language. He (a young little guy) had the most amazing personality and... singing voice! A gal from LA ‘fell in love’ with him, now he’s living with her and doing movie-studio auditions.

Are dialects in Sicily and Sardinia different enough that understanding them is a touch difficult for Romans, and/or Milanese?

    AC36 - The Match

Does that in any way explain why Italians of Sicilian descent are so ... different? Son of a Sicilian, by any chance @Xlot? But then from what family tree did you inherit your intellect?

    Clever...
  19. It’s possible that any agreement will include not only the 120 hours but also an alteration of the measurement terms. Curious too, it’s actually a very interesting/fun subject.
  20. Interesting, thanks for the clarification. My guess is that both teams will want to postpone the measure date, guess we’ll see.

Yes, NBCSN is one of the channels that play on bar screens, alongside whoever is broadcasting sporting events. NBCSN was broadcasting the AC in SF and in Bermuda and yes it was cool. That channel appears headed towards broadcasting AC36 too but I won’t be in any pubs to gauge interest or drive friends into engagement, this time. They are currently open for 25% capacity but I don’t trust the ventilation, especially in the restrooms! Most of us will get our jabs soon enough, yay.

    AC36 - The Match

Draper suggested that it was possible, yes. In my experience though, any sandbagging happens in what teams hold back in the latest gear. The sailors (jockeys) on their race-horses, they try to win no matter what! The crews on both boats are awesome, anything could happen.

    AC36 - The Match

Okay They did supposedly had timer problems on board OR leading to micro-second OCS’s and Slingsby described them back in 2017. But it must surely be a concern, how many starts PB got beaten in, in December? I put a lot of confidence in the set plays that LR goes into the starts with, given JS’s confidence and history with Philippe Presti. But I put a lot less faith into LR’s ability to keep a tight cover on ETNZ even when nailing them on the startline. Speed kills...
  24. Perhaps FB meant ‘same as ETNZ’s position’?
