      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

Is that the old Silent Night Beds that used to be on Sydernee harbour?? Oil Beef Hooked....always wondered what happened to her after she hit the bricks in Vanuatu....thought she was lost there at the time. Still don't know her sisterships name. Bueller?? Apocalypse???? That sounds right??....found this. Can't find a pic. Thanks The fog of old age is starting to clear just a little....before it was Apocalypse I think it was named Kamber or something similar. Gossip back in the day was that the boat with then owner on board had a very bad delivery trip back to Sydney from somewhere, and the owner was only too happy to accept a sharp offer from Barclay Wade to take it off his hands. She was then renamed Apocalypse and sailed out of MHYC for a period under Barclay's ownership. She usually featured a number of females in the crew, including one very former Commodore of MHYC, and they were known to perform the "Apocalypse Salute" at various times...no pictures unfortunately/just as well!

I seem to recall that Teenage Love Machine was the plug for the Eureka 31. There were also a couple of versions as to how Ben came up with the design...one was he basically did a copy of Jim Youngs' Rocket 31, the other was that the original Eureka design was for 34 feet, but when they calculated the production cost it came out way to high for the market, so they put a theoretical chainsaw across the plans and made it a 31 footer. Like most waterfront gossip probably neither version is true..

Highly modified actually...hull is from original Eureka moulds, but custom deck, different keel and rudder, plus much modified rig. From memory there was approx 2 metres added to the mast via section plus sleeve at the bottom, plus new boom added 75cms to E measurement. Used to be very underpowered in the light stuff under original rig, but now plenty of grunt. Ahead of its time in some ways, but a lot of boat in 31 feet, plus a decent interior too. Needs windows to improve the look of the high cabin top, which we were planning but never put in....no leaks though!

Hi Tasj, I notice in your fotos a boat with sail number 5885....is this still called Heavy Duty or has it been re-named. I was was a part owner some years ago and wondered where she had finished up after being sold to Melbourne. Thanks.
