      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

  1. 1st album was Aerosmith, Night in the Ruts 2nd album was the Rolling Stones, Tatoo You Still have both and many more. Tatoo You is probably a better album but for sentimental reasons I think it's a tie.
  2. I didn't particularly care for Trump before his campaign began and am not turned on by what he as said since this whole show has begun, but I am very intrigued by the fact that he is universally despised by every insider across the entire political spectrum, the media and beyond. Regardless of what people think about him this crazy system is the real reason he canot possibly be successful in the end.
  3. As a spinff to the Sirius thread, I am off of terrestrial and satelite radio and now get more content then I can listen to through my phone. What are some people's favorites? Some of mine include: Adam Carolla: First podcast I lestened to and still my overall favorite. I don't agree with everything he says but he gets great guests and puts together and entertaining show. About Last Night, Adam Ray and Brian Williams: Two great comedians who put on a great weekly show. Freakonomics: Two econonomist hosts who look at various problems through that prism which makes for some interesting discussions. Question of the day: One of the Freakonomics hosts is joined by a friend who have a short daily podcast abut various topics. Fitzdog Radio: Greg Fitzsimmons does a weekly show where I have heard a couple of the best and worst posdacts to date. Interesting guy and seasoned comic who manges to bring in good guests as long as he can stay off politics (which he most often can). Dave Dameshek Football Program: Entertaining show which gets sidetracked all the time off of football onto more critical topics like the best fruit, uniforms and other intriguing items. Dave may be a guy who you love or hate but the show is clean so my 13 YO son and I enjoy it together. Still Untitled, the Adam Savage Project: Really interesting show from one of the co-hosts of Mythbusters and a couple of friends who cover all sorts of topics. They sometimes get more into critiques of specific movies and sci-fi isues but overall the show if very interesting. Resume: One of Adam Carolla's producers does this show interviewing people about their first and subsequent jobs. Chris is a good host (and musician) and does a good job of pulling in some interesting people to speak with. There are others on my regular list as well but I am intersted to hear what other people listen to as well.
  4. Just finished up a couple years of tons of mostly car travel and after subscribing at the beginning ended up listening almost entirely to podcasts through my phone. Which ones people like is a different conversation but I wouldn't think of signing up for satellite radio now.
  5. http://yourteamcheats.com/ I didn't read this entire thread to see if this site had been referenced already but it is interesting to see the cheating which has gone on around the league and where the Patriots are not the leaders in this topic by a long shot. Also intersting to learn some of the history of the Jets on spygate as they are far from clean on that topic.
  6. Breaking Bad beats The Sopranos by a nose in my opinion. Meanwhile it is interesting to see reruns of big network series from the 70's and 80's to see how bad they were.
  7. A British Engineer just started his own business in Afghanistan. He's making land mines that look like prayer mats. It's doing very well.... He says prophets are going through the roof!
  8. I never sailed on a boat designed by Dick Carter, but in the '60's and early '70's my dad worked with Dick and they became good friends, and in the summer they would go away for a couple of week and let our family stay at their house in Nahant, MA. I was very young so don't remember it well, other than it was a great time with friends and family playing on their beach and riding big wheels around the house. Closest thing I can offer to a 1st hand account of his boats, but we did hang out with Dick and his family.
