    Snowflakes and sailing

I may as well just quit sailing now, if Language is to be a determining factor.

  5. I dunno M24 is a hard boat to beat OD. They all are actually. Sounds like you and some buddies need to sit down and get a group together...

    Racer sponsorship

It helps get a name out to others, that wouldn't otherwise know anything about that company. Its valuable. At least to me And I'm sure to others aswell.

Anybody Know The History Of This Farr 39ML?

A friend had one 15 years ago. I sailed on it a good bit and did all prep work on it. Great boats, as far as I was concerned. If it needs a lot of sails or lines ,beware as they wont be cheap. The main is Huge. Very tweaky rig, that needs someone that knows how to tune it right and often. Build quality was great. It was a very fun boat.

    J70, cheating and pros

Lasers are different from a J70. I got a laser truck to myself (21boats) and cherry picked the best hull, uppers, lowers, blades, etc. If you have the chance. Its better than getting a shit boat, out of a box. And btw 4 out of the 21 were good. 1 better than others. When you have no rules other than don't touch things. It invites trouble. I've seen it in the past. I'm about to see it in the future with the Viper class. Current rules say you cant touch anything. The new boats we just got don't measure in. Once we Hit something and have to repair the keel. Then we HAVE to tear it down and make it fit the class template. What's faster? I don't know. But leaving things open is Inviting issues... To many Grey Areas. I blame this on the Class officers that should have dealt with this YEARS AGO!!! You can poke at the builders a bit. But, no. They build them. The owners decide how the rules should be. The guys that got kicked for cheating. Yeah they most likely knew better. but still, if you cant touch it, why are guys sanding the keels During the measurement????? I mean really??? Half the class probably is scared to wetsand anything. The other half is trying to make it work right, and or fixing builder problems. To many Grey Areas... Obviously there are WAY to many Grey areas.... There's a whole lot of, Not making sense, going on in the J70. I'm glad I have a M24 where Nothing makes fucking sense...

Short term moorage for Melges 24

I have left my M24 in the water for roughly 9-10 days at a time. Stuff does start to grow a little, not to much to clean with a rag. Certainly not barnacles. But a little slim will attach. And is easy to wipe off. I have no idea if it will keep it clean for 2 weeks at a time. That might be pushing the scope of the product. We are down here in the Gulf coast with Brackish water. All I can say is give it a shot and see what happens. Just be prepared for it to not work as well as you like. Its Not an AF paint.
