      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

Hey Larry. Glad to hear about your mast and what didn't happen. We are re-doing our sheaves on our mast this fall. Standard offshore rig--two jibs inside and two spins dangling. What did you use to replace OEM? I cant remember whether you or Wild Bill (or both) replaced them recently. Many thanks, Tony
  2. Detroit Lion Anarchy

Hey, its a forgone conclusion that the Lions suck, but what happened to all the smack talking Bears? Marinelli the great? How is the unemployment line, bro?
  3. J35 Anarchist

And you come to this forum recently divorced and yet empty handed? You know the rules. . .
  4. J35 Anarchist

Hey Baddog. You posted about getting together a little early season tuning class on the mid-west coast. Anything come of it? I got Mort all fired up for this season and we would probly make the trip across the mitten for an April wknd.

I think that it is way premature to start opening the champagne, but it is clear that the Lions no longer suck.
  6. Some of my old sailing photos 2

Good God, that's dredging up some ancient history--did time on Road Warrior, then Lorimar in the late 80's. I am beginning to feel like an old shit.

Six of the J-39 cockpits, according to the horse's mouth.
  8. J35 Anarchist

There were several wheeled J-35s: Obsession in Detroit was one. A bit o extra weight in the ass, but decent boats nontheless
  9. J35 Anarchist

There was a J35 named Warlord that t-boned a santana(?) and sank it several years ago. . .I'd like to see pics of that:blink:

Bzing--nice job--we had many a good times racing against the old Obsession--I think that we are in for a similar refit this fall.
  11. J35 Anarchist

That would be the "crew discount."
  12. J35 Anarchist

Hi Larry--we only had six on the line in 2008 (Touch of Grey was there, but had no crew and cruised out on friday). Add in the cost of the whitefish dinner and a couple hundred bucks for hookers at the Gold Front, it just got too expensive with minimal class participation. If we could have added Bozo, Hokua or you guys to the mix (as well as all of the other eastside 35's--Griffin, Gold, Snipe, Rowdy, Ragtime), it would have at least lowered the price for hookers. . . Besides, I got tired of Wild Bill or those More Cowbell guys controlling that damn blender. I'd be happy to help resurrect it, but it seems that there is substantial interest in going to Erie this year. Maybe 2011?

One of the ones going upwind looks like 41744, the Usual Suspects out of Toronto. No longer sailing. As was stated earlier, they have gone to the dark side and now have a J-105 of the same name. Wow, that old kevlar is really gold.

This is done deal. The previous owner took fantastic care of this boat and I consider myself lucky to have found her...now all I have to do is learn how to sail it.... Cool boat--I remember that it was never raced that hard. Did you buy it from the original owners? Good luck with the learning curve: more touches=better performance.

Who just sold their J35 from Detroit to LIS? JPD in SA is looking for ground transport. . .
