    what are they?

For me it looks like the 35 more so due to the cutout on the chine. It is not present on the 41. The 41, also has cut outs on the stern from previous photos. However, both may be an option which I do not know about.

Probably are just in the process of rebranding Helly base layers with Musto. Give them a bit of time.
  5. Well this happened today in Annapolis apparently.
  6. Gotta play by the rules. Saw a friend sail a overnight race and kick their class right in the feel good spot and because they didn't check in at the start, game over. While its little, and it sucks. Cross your ts and dot your i's. Don't bitch when you don't.

    Are they Racers?

I think you are onto something. Instead of 3+ W/L each day, I would vote for a W/L and a mini distance race every day. Two types of sailing in each regatta.

    Funny Comments while Racing

Coming into a crowded mark the skipper says, "it's okay guys, I'm really good at not getting fucked."

Except, no one bought the 31.

Talk about a sacrificial bow... Everyone keeps saying the loads on these boats are unknown, but with this damage, it seems like this should be more of a known than say cross beams, or points for the foils. Not that I know anything about engineering, just arm chair thoughts.

any tricks for renewing foulies water proof

Getting a whole lot harder to get warranty from Musto. They now are require the garments to be sent to Gore for testing of the material. Basically, they don't think its a problem of theirs. They changed out all the zippers over the years because the waterproof ones sucked balls. But, they also don't see that being their problem.

Agreed, but that is why I said usually. There is always going to be cases of structural failure. Pushing the limits and all. It just seems like every time these multis go out, the chances are more so than anything else.

Well they do sure. What I mean and should have said, is they don't go belly up, and usually the structure isn't a failure like the armas and beams.

I know multis are faster and all that, but to see them failing so much seems like I would rather be on the IMOCA

    Collegiate sailing ....

It is also sad that a school like St. Mary's no longer has an offshore program to send kids to Larchmont and Kennedy Cup.

    Zhik ZKGs

I really wanted to like these. However, every time I put them on they sounded like they were ripping apart. I much more prefer shoes with tongues.

    New imoca boats

They only look awkward right now because they are not allowed to use T Rudders. Once this is changed, they will fly as smooth as Macif most likely.

    FP - Red Bull

For me, it doesn't even have to be Red Bull per se. Just a cool sponsor looking to advance themselves and sailing like puma did with their designs. The volvo look is so boring compared to the Vendee boats.

what's your top boatspeed in a J boat?

14.8 on a 35 in the same race before the kite exploded. Was a great race.
  25. Love the boat, but I think the Farr 400 ran it in less than 3 hours looking at the results.
