The on-boat interviews will be on 5G, hence the freeze and frame skips. The delays with patching in European callers may not be a local issue, I'll bet it's at the overseas end where the caller(s) are. The local shore-based hosts will have multiple gigabit broadband optical fibre links from the Mayoral Drive exchange just up the road, where the international fibre gateways are terminated. I love Bruno but he's even harder to understand than our regular Cheech & Chong Italian analysts - don't know why they don't hire Ken Read to do the pressers.
-
Yet he's got an AC in his resumé , and he's 3&1 in the Xmas Cup: where's Team Brexitannia, btw?
-
Spark's not alone though they are ETNZ's sponsors. Both they and Vodafone have been hyping up 5G since forever with their over-priced handsets, etc.
-
He was only referring to the lying biatch McEnitwit - no foul no harm.
-
I'm not at all convinced that Spark's 5G platform carrying the signals from the AC75s back to the broadcasters is stable enough yet. Too many freezes for my liking.

All top achievers in sport (as in commerce, etc) need a huge dosage of self-confidence, perceived by the not-so-high-achievers as "arrogance", to succeed: Tiger Woods, Bolt, Maradonna...take your pick of any sports code and you'll find their super-confident high achievers at the top of the food chain. In Burling's case, he did make crucial mistakes which cost them the race Vs AM and he owned up to them - he didn't blame "software" or hardware or any of his crew.
-
I'm pretty sure I heard one of the commentators on the youtube state that Race 7 between AM and LR was over 8 legs, and Race 8 betwen ETNZ and Brexitannia was over 6 legs. Did I hear correctly??

What would it take for one of these so-called reporters/journos at the pressers for one of them to ask Jimmy what he really thinks of their twin-helming operation? Does it detract from his instinctive reaction and response in pre-starts? How does it work - when does Bruni surrender full control to him, and vice versa? A journo can make him- or herself look very "with-it" by asking these types of questions. I sense that Jimmy would rather he helmed on his own.
-
Just heard that the Arbitration Panel have ruled in favour of Team Brexitannia's urgent application for relief. 1: In Race 10, LR is to give Brexitannia a 500-metre head start. 2: In Race 11, AM is to give Brexitannia a 900-metre head start 3: In Race 12, ETNZ is to allow Brexitannia to round the first mark before they can cross the start line.

You see what you want to. Burling was being sarcastic in response to Sir Ben's whinge.
-
HTFU ya whiny biatch!!
-
I thought that was Jimmy in SF 2013

Good to see Team Brexitannia complete two races without any issues. Now for some serious decisions for team management to make...

Small world - and getting smaller
-
I'm guessing no hydraulic steering on AM then?
-
I'm not sure Hutch didn't call the tacking cover - Deano sure looked a bit stressed when ETNZ were hot on his tail within 100 metres of the final mark
-
It could be something as simple as a timing mismatch (for example) in the ECC sending a signal to a ratchet-type lock holding the arm in place (rather than relying on a hydraulic lock, which leaks) to release the arm, causing the lock-up and the motor keeps pumping 'til the batteries overheated and shut down. The lithium batteries that "closed down completely" are German-made Torqeedo 48V/5000Wh units - Torqeedo didn't come down in the last shower!!
-
...forgot about them!!
-
I think their problem lies within their own-developed and -designed ECC system. They need to go back and decompile their code and logic ladders and start again before the Prada Cup, but it goes without saying that they need competent engineers to do that in the first place! And time...
-
I think Sir Ben is confused between the FCS and the ECC which ties in all the logic controls of the HCC of which the FCS is just one small component, and all the other sensor data measured and collected aboard, and electrical switching of electrical actuators. The ECC is where I believe their problems are.
-
I've seen some videos where they do that unfiltered
-
Sir Ben just needs a better ECC system, which is why he's asking for ETNZ's
-
You've nailed it! "My sand castle is crap - can you help me build mine?"
-
Agree. Seems to be of the same mould as Hutch. What are Iain Percy and Iain Jensen doing these days?
