The points say BAR are the strongest of the rest.
-
GTFrance are going home unless Artemis loses to the OR tag team tomorrow, in which case it's all to race for on Saturday. Artemis only has to pinch a win tomorrow against either OR-Xerox or OR-JPN. On the current standings, ETNZ should select BAR for their semi opponent.

Good for her...nice familial touch in a relaxed forum...

Nice tribute to Kiwi Jono Macbeth "The bloke's done like 20 America's Cup matches," Carr noted. "You cannot buy that experience. I think Jono would be the first to say that, physically, guys like Bleddyn [Mon] and Neil [Hunter], the young guys who also sail in his spot, are fitter than him. "He's still a strong old beast. That's why we call him The Bear. But his temperament today blew me away. In four years of sailing with BAR that is actually the first race I have done with Jono. But he brought an attitude on to the boat that resonated across the crew." Ainslie was similarly impressed. "That was why I wanted him on the boat because we've been having a tough time," he said. "If the guys on the other boats look across and see him, it probably puts the shivers down them a bit. It helped to settle the boat. That's what you need, to bring on big name players and put on a performance." Racing today

When all is said and done, I confess I quite like Ben Ainslie, from when he was in ETNZ in Valencia. I still believe we might have won back then had misplaced loyalty not influenced cold hard decisions they should have made. I don't blame Sir Ben for racing today. He's got 3 points, and probably felt he needed at least 1 more from today and perhaps 1 from tomorrow to be safe into the top 4. I quite like Campbell-James...maybe Sir Ben should consider stepping aside to concentrate on oversight of the on-the-water stategy. I think in the modern era, only one person has successfully managed and skippered an AC Challenge - Sir Russell.

So what will happen to Northern Island under Brexit??
-
But but..he's effectively 2 races up on everyone else.
-
Now who's talking shit...again?? I never questioned how many sensors they can have - just the use of the magnetic position feed-back.
-
I'd already guessed they could be using the magnetic feed-back to display positioning, with a separate 15.3 manually-activated controller to adjust. I just wanted you to go looking for an Interpretation I already had..
-
No sweat...I think they're both ok however they're using feed-back.
-
15.2(b) specifically bans the use of positional feed-back of the control surface itself in the control system - BAR's magnetic feed-back system mounted on the wing spar seems to fall into this definition. The ETNZ wing controls could be using wind information from an anemometer to automate the upper wing control. If the BAR magnetic positional feed-back system is legal, then I wonder whether it's because the MC consider the wing spar as not a control surface...
-
Which "clarification"? You just making up shit or you going to direct us to where it is??
-
I don't think Team OR-Xerox had any choice over 15.2(b) regarding stepper motors and linear actuators being specifically banned
-
Class Rules Article 15 above you...
-
Hahaha, I reckon I know that Article 15 off by heart by now I just wanted him to do some work and cite the MC Interpretation which confirms his claim that any surface-control feed-back " can feed back into "recommendations" ("do you want to implement reocmmended config n times a sec") "
-
Cite a source or you'te just making up shit!!
-
Agree. I'm hoping BAR go home early now.
-
Where do you come up with this shit??
-
Why are you so concerned? You're the worst supporter Team BAR would want - you keep pulling them down and criticising them, comparing them unfavourably against your blue-pill Artemis. You sound more and more like SimonN...

Barker can barely string together coherent sentences so it's unlikely he'll be any use at trying to raise sponsorships at the level required to mount a sustainable AC challenge. Dalton, otoh, has commercial credibility, street cred and skills that allow him through the necessary doors to decision-makers. Burling is already way ahead of Barker in sailing and tactical skills: he'll own Barker in the LVQs...
-
Barker is still Coutts' bitch...
-
Barker was always the weak link in 2003, 2007 and 2013. After AC34, there was no way he was going to be helmimg in AC35 - and I suspect some of the major sponsors would have expressed their preference for someone other than Barker. He reminds me of a truck driver, not a rally driver which is what you need in AC35..
-
If Barker beats ETNZ, I'm burning my ACA membership!! There is no way that loser will beat GAshby.

Ben Ainslie is playing the underdog brilliantly. Speak softly and carry a big stick!!
