      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

  1. CQS rig out- not a good sign 12 days out
  2. More pix here https://www.bigboatracing.com/gallery/
  3. From Bakewell-White Yacht Design's Facebook page
  4. I'm in Oz and have a Getaway. It is the US version- I don't know what the difference is between it and the Euro one that makes it so much heavier, but mine is definitely made in USA. As said above- I can get mine from trailer on to beach wheels (Cat Trax- large inflatable tyres) and then move it around solo on the sand. It is crucial though to get the wheels located at the balance point, I have made a bridle that attaches to the front cross beam and rear wing mount to keep the wheel in the right spot. The bridle also means that the wheels can be put under the boat in the water as well and then push it up the beach
  5. It's the N/M43 St Hilliers Quest
  6. It's definitely the 80 that's entered for Coffs..............truly bizarre??????????????
  7. There is a news article on the Rolex Sydney Hobart website by Bruce Montgomery where Ricko mentions the new, larger DSS foil. Sorry don't know how to embed the link

  10. http://yachthub.com/list/yachts-for-sale/used/sail-monohulls/steinmann-52-alloy-hull/76268 It's aliiiiiiive??? One careful owner? What's the price for scrap aluminium these days?
  11. Mightn't be a bad IRC boat, but you'd want to buy it for about $5.00 given the cost to sort it out. IIRC it's pretty light so strip out the interior, a good keel, maybe twin rudders (Fat arseed boat) and a big carbon rig and a sprit and woo-hoo! What's the going rate for aluminium scrap at the moment???
  12. Here are some pics of Flying Colours looking very sad indeed!! Sorry they're so small. is that definitely flying colours?? i heard that it is still sailing It is definitely the Steinmann 52 Flying Colours. The pics are from when she was up for auction back in 2004. I'm pretty sure it didn't sell, I don't know what the story is after that

It was up for auction a few years ago, I assume it didn't sell. is it blue?? i put a rig in down at the boatyard at Harwood, and there is a big blue and yello thing up on the hard with holes and shit in the side of it. looked very tired, but looked steinman-ish. I think it is blue, I may have some photos.....standby!!!
