  1. With CQS and Varuna sitting in 2 handfuls of sfw I think Ichi is out of luck. Will is a great guesser but he can't magic wind out of thin air. Giacomo sitting pretty.
  2. I mean we could tell from the tracker but a photo of the glass out https://twitter.com/Paul_Carterr/status/813836268333207553
  3. About the only thing going for Ichi is arriving after sunrise, perhaps a morning breeze to help her in. Right now BOM is showing Hobart = 0 kts, Dennes = 9 kts and Tasman = 15 kts.

  5. Your definition of "winning" is "nothing broke" and "beating" a boat not even in the race? Get your hand off it.
  6. I presume you think the gate is going to shut for Ichi? Why have you written off Giacomo? Or BG?
  7. SCANAS you sound like a helicopter parent wondering why their little Johnny didn't win a prize for participation or a PB. Chutzpah will be sinking beers with the quiet satisfaction of a job well done. Anyone who needs more than that is looking in the wrong place for it. There has to be a simple rating system so there is still something to determine who gets the pickle dish. IRC is the worst rating system except for all those others we tried (IMS anyone?). Sailing involves weather which turns it into a bit of a lottery sometimes. NEWS FLASH. FILM AT 11. But seriously this happens in OD too, it's not something unique to rating racing. It's part of the sport and you learn to take your lumps.
  8. The last two readings from Dennes seem to indicate the Derwent is shutting down
  9. Lots of boats between Tasman and Raoul doing 1-2kts right now.
  10. I was just using the source of their data http://www.bom.gov.au/tas/observations/hobart.shtml?ref=hdrbut their graphs are nice. http://www.weatherzone.com.au/station.jsp?lt=site&lc=94255&list=obis near the pot and shows totally different wind and a steep drop off in the last few hours.
  11. It will be interesting getting across the transition. Obs at Tasman is NNE 17kt whereas Dennes is S 3kt
  12. Not much breeze http://www.bom.gov.au/tas/observations/hobart.shtml?ref=hdr Dennes Point = 1kt Hobart = 4kt Hobart airport = calm
  13. Is Goat the same Goat that dropped her bulb in a Hobart?
  14. Thank you both for the clarification, seems I misinterpreted what I read when it originally happened.
