      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

  1. Cost controls only impact where the money is spent. This time round they are clearly saying they do not want to spend it on the (sailing) staff. The more to spend on creating fancy artifacts presumably. Pretty shocking thing for a team of the people to get involved with but at least we're back to a design challenge
  2. Bye bye Artemis Racing

Land Rover Jaguar is an Indian company reportedly in the mix to buy up Maserati and Alpha Romeo
  3. Commodores Cup

Not really a surprise that the Irish wont be there to defend. Only slightly less of a surprise they wont be there at all either. Would be quietly confident enough that there are 2 or 3 boats out there that would do it for the craic but not at the cost (not necessarily the financial one) required to challenge, which rules out 1 or 2 others.
  4. Commodores Cup

No team from Ireland Amongst the verbiage... Campaign available off the shelf for 50k but not in a size that would match the prospective campaigner. Outbid by HK on larger boats. Only one boat has managed to keep it's crew together and lots of the kids off the team are now spread all over the world sailing all kinds of other stuff. Sense that the last time was more or less the perfect campaign and going back would seem pretty average, particularly if the campaign wasn't to the same level. Not many takers for the kind of campaign that would be on the same level. The small matter of an Olympic star campaign.
