      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

  1. Show your boat sailing thread

Charter boat... the Arch has seating for six+ charter guests, speakers and lights... in addition to holding the solar panels and wind generator and all the other stuff not yet replaced... On top off all that it keeps my guests out of the cockpit so I and the crew can sail the boat... at least that is the theory... not chartering much yet (again) and the charter market in the Bay area isn't what it was in Hawaii... the dodger should be obvious...

  3. it is in SF Bay the boat is in good condition I'll find and post some more pictures of it when Im back in my office in the morning
  4. Ive got a Catalina 27, inboard atomic 4, and a trailer I bought to set up for it I could sell you for $6K, I bought it for a place to be while rebuilding the interior of my real boat (Columbia 57). Id need to give the kid living on-board notice and time to move off though.
  5. I was watching a Columbia 57 (at least that's what we could discern from the sail logo) sail around this weekend. What's with that aft end counter? There's no additional interior space, sailing length, etc, etc, etc that might have been my boat... there are two Columbia 57's on SF Bay that i am aware of (only 13 ever built). They are tender and when healed the WL does extend out to the end of the counter... the original boat won the Transpac on its shakedown cruise, and Columbia57's went on to win every west coast race, but that was a long time ago... The one I've been watching has what looks to be a navy blue test color on the transom. What I really like is that it seems to be out every weekend! Not many boats get as much use as that one. I was shepherding some lasers out to red rock and back... yup thats my boat... it is back sailing again after a lot of years in rebuilding... not done with the rebuild yet, but everything is new except the hull... it had really bad termites in the deck so everything went into a dumpster and Ive rebuilt her from the hull up... I saved the bubble portion of the cabin but the rest is new.

  7. I single handed my Ericson 32 all over the south pacific and up to Hawaii between 98 and 2000, was a Mark II. great boat, lived on it for 15 years before moving up to my current boat. would recommend the Ericson 32 as a small ocean capable cruiser
  8. you could just buy another smaller boat, put them both in the same marina and then you can likely have 6 days in that marina... 3 on each boat... as most marinas will allow you to spend up to three days without it being considered a live aboard...
