"Just go sail the course with whoever you like" and "just stay home and let these 125 boats have the bay to themselves" are not the only two options. No one is telling anyone to stay off the water, just to stay away from a congested starting line w/ two race committee volunteers trying to make sense of 125 singlehanded boats you Florida muppet.

sure. make life harder for the two family members running the race deck. I'm sure they'll appreciate it.

so many slow boat sailors with opinions. It's pretty simple to anyone who's sailed fast boats that tip over: They went into a bear away down speed and tipped over. No surprise what happened next. Except for the boat exploding and sinking, that was surprising.

It's shiny and silver. Look at the close up pics. Also typical of cost is no object/longevity is not a concern builds.

We rounded the top mark in 6th during a race at a Santa Cruz nationals. About a minute down the leg a huge puff tore down the course; we rounded down more violently than I have ever rounded down in my life. After popped back up and sorted ourselves out, we were in 1st, everyone else was still pinned down! On a related note, Pacific High's rudder is about a foot further forward and much less prone to ventilation. I know of at least two O-30's who've moved their posts forward to improve downwind behavior.

A few thoughts: not woven, laminated mylar(films)/polyester(fibers) likely a flat, symmetric reacher

After watching AM higher and faster off the start line, I'm suspicious that today was a sandbag aimed at sparing the GB sponsors embarrassment. If not, I'm looking forward to some good racing!

Good luck with the back. Hope it doesn't keep you off the water for long.

Same family and same household aren't the same things. I don't think they want to start policing public health policy, especially given how flagrantly "same household" guidelines have been violated. We all know people who would push the limits.

Few points of failure: heading out during the biggest swell of the winter heading out during the biggest swell of the winter on a dropping tide attempting to enter on the set wave attempting to enter slowly on the set wave stopping on the bar while all boats were still upright Glad everyone is Ok.
