      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

  1. J70, cheating and pros

Pretty strong rhetoric. There are many other classes more competitive than the J70, like say the Olympic classes. However, an impressive performance indeed.
  2. Bora gulari nacra 17 incident

A very well known coach had the same injury this spring. Had a thin dyneema bowline wrapped around his fingers, bow of the coach boat went one way, bow of the sailboat went the other. Pretty violent force in opposite directions.
  3. ....got stung by the 'WASZP'?..OD foiler...

Take off speed is 2 knots more than a moth, but that's only if you're reaching. To race a Waszp you need probably 4 more knots of breeze than a moth.
  4. Amlin Bermuda moth regatta 2016

anyone with insider knowledge on the new Lennon boat?
  5. Drying out foam core

certainly two...in this particular boat there was a tiny crack in the port trunk
  6. Drying out foam core

Ah the board trunk. I have seen two problem areas in scows, in particular the E, but the C should be relatively the same. 1. the board trunk - I propped it up on its side and pitched it bow down and drilled a hole at the low point. drained all winter 2. rudder post where it attaches to the outer skin. make sure it's not separated
  7. Drying out foam core

    which scow and which builder?
  8. I appreciate your enthusiasm If you want better control in heavy air / reaching, tighten up your hiking strap and keep your legs together. Knees should be touching and hike, using your shoulders and core to push around the boat Over trim the sail a hair more with a loose vang. Raise the board to the point where the boat isn't tripping over it. With the right set up and posture it should be drama free
