      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

  5. Sailing Anarchists Affected by Cancer

Hey ya, rather than a whole bunch of eulogies, think of it as a whole bunch of insurance. You now have all you need to post in any "discussion" thread and if anybody starts slinging shit you can now quote right back at them what they really think of you.

  11. "Heaven Can Wait" 24 hour Yacht Race

I can't do much more than totally echo the comments by Recidivist above, and yes, I sure do appeciate being back in the warm! Being approx 10 miles offshore in an Adams 10 is something else as well! Thanks to Mel and Phil for the organisation done for "our" boats and to HCW for the event itself
  12. "Heaven Can Wait" 24 hour Yacht Race

And you've done it facking well. Extra kudos for the grace under pressure shown at times as well
  13. "Heaven Can Wait" 24 hour Yacht Race

Yes, but I think if you take into account JRTC's age off your crew, and add mine into the other and then average them out, don't be too sure you have all the "old age and treachery"
  14. "Heaven Can Wait" 24 hour Yacht Race

What?????? I don't think I even own anything anymore that will work in those temps
  15. "Heaven Can Wait" 24 hour Yacht Race

Phill sent me an email earlier this evening after reading my itinerary, hoping I was able to sleep on planes. I'm totally with Bad Jelly's when it comes to sleep. Some people like isle seats. I'm all about window seats. The funny part about my itinerary is that I leave Minneapolis on September 26th, and arrive in Sydney on September 28th! (Yikes!) Now on the flip side, on the return flight, I arrive in San Francisco (intermediate stop) before I even leave Sydney. :::plays twilight zone theme::: I guess I need to wrap my mind around the international date line one of these days... I HAVE to have a window seat - I've woken up twice on the shoulder of somebody I didn't know from sleeping in an aisle seat with nothing else to lean on. I've got 4 x 12+ hour flights between now and the race, I think I get one day three times....I've given up trying to figure it out.
