      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

  1. VOR '17-'18 - THE GAME

ah hah, I thought so too - seems fair as well. thnx
  2. VOR '17-'18 - THE GAME

Does changing your course by a degree or a few degrees slow you down like it does for tacking/gybing? What about swinging your course around a little bit quickly to see 24hr route options?
  3. VOR '17-'18 - THE GAME

add me in, I was on the list for the past legs. tommmzzz
  4. Wanted Missing VOR Skipper

I took a Pogo 12.50 Hermes from Athens to Messina - Gibralter - Gran Canaria last November/December. Problems with the boat caused them to stick around Las Palmas for a month, I had my fun and went back to Toronto for the holidays. We got caught out ina 60 knot system with thousands of lightening strikes about 12 hours out of Greece. Skippers gf crash gybed the boat, almost killed her, etc etc Did 20 knots a few times once the mayhem was over. All in all about 20 knot windspeed average trip from Athens to Gran Canaria.

At least keep the boatfeed show going, thats a good half hour watch for each leg review. The banter is a welcomed break from the high intensity of the live daily shows....harhar
  6. I'd have to think this is within the one design parameters..
  7. RORC TransAtlantic Race

Playing Virtual Regatta - I'm heading West near the rhumbline way back in 30,000 but looking to dive South in the next few hours for the Southerly option. Surprised at how many boats are climbing NW; I was thinking you'd see a bigger split then just 2 boats going South right away. Will be interesting in 5 days time to see where boats show up, closer to halfway down the track.
  8. RORC TransAtlantic Race

That's along way off from the course and vmg.. silly pay to players
  9. Did anybody else notice that the Jeanneau 54ds No Doubt did not leave Tenerife to Port? They may seem to be going the right way (South seems favoured, but hard to get to) but illegaly so. CQS taking the Southern option. http://rorctransatlantic.rorc.org/tracking/2017-fleet-tracking.html
  10. VOR '17-'18 - THE GAME

I don't get why they have foils creating more speed downwind for these boats... they're not foilers as in the new IMOCA's, they're just straight leeway foils. This is dumb.
  11. Mini Transat 2017
