Now THAT is a very cool little commuter. I think you'd be better off just letting me be your chaffeur... I'll 'protect' it while you're at the office!

Caddel will catch him in the Pyrenees. Its his time, now or never!! Oh and interior plan please! I am actually rooting for Cadel and expect him to win it in the time trial..... Yes, I do expect to keep her under a million. Fair enough Kim. Bob, I've never been one to shy away from being non PC. This IS sailing / cruising anarchy so I feel no restriction on the 'rules'. I understand that it's sensitive to some. So, too, is the usual CA greeting but that never stops folks! Good to know that it's under a mil--wouldn't want him taken advantage of...

My biggest concern with PBO is UV exposure. The rep told me to expect five years life, maybe a bit more in the Pacific Northwest. That seems short. When we get to that part of the project I plan to look at it again. I am open to just about anything and do not make final decisions until we are at the point the decision must be made. But with all decisions I always ask myself: "What is the simple way to do this?" I want this vessel to stand out as being "understated". Ummm, .... can you really use "stand out" and "understated" in the same sentence? 60 feet loa and a minimalist boat aren't understated. But seriously, I do get it. You're already well on your way with this boat. btw, is it too unseemly to want to know (and actually ask) for a ball park figger on what this'll run you? Over or under $200k? $300?

Bill, I think I was the one who got you interested in the Yankee O/D during a sail with you and Eric H. in Friday Harbor many years ago aboard Yankee Clipper. I'm the one who donated her to the Center for Wooden Boats. If you find out what happened to her, let me know. I must say that seeing the pics of the 'new' Venture' was more than a little nostalgic for me. The Yankee Clipper is the only boat I've ever really loved. I really like my current ride but nothing will compare to the Yankee Clipper for pure sailing enjoyment. Hopefully, Kim will enjoy Sliver as much.

When you guys get my Design Course curriculum sorted out, will you let me know when I can enroll? (I'm tired of doodling and too old to self-teach CAD stuff)

You want bald eagles? We have plenty to go around. Bald eagles are making a big comeback in the NW. We have a snag in front of the family beach house that eagles like to sit in at high tide when the light is just right and look for salmon. It's awesome to see them wing offf and dive on a fish, then pull it out of the water. They're almost getting to be pests though. A lady down the beach usually walks her small dog without a leash, then one day she came by and the dog was on a leash. I asked her why. She said she was walking the dog one day and an eagle swooped down and tryed to nab it. The dog ran for her and she ran for the eagle and scared it off. I think my dog is too big for one to go after but I still keep an eye out for the eagles. EDIT: Here's a pic. Snag is just to the right of the sun. No eagles though. Shoot. Here on San Juan island in the (appropriately named) San Juans, a tree came down a couple years ago with a bald eagle nest in it. Had 11 (eleven) small dog collars in it. Just sayin'.
