It is up to 2 times quicker to ship, bearing in mind it already takes 2 months to ship Europe to Australia plus you don't end up with a race boat that is half fucked courtesy of deliveries on its own keel. Using shipping a S2H already takes 4-5 months out of the calendar so it is a substantial time comittment for one race. This is a fucking joke I hope. an IMOCA 60 takes less than 6 weeks to sail from France to south of Australia. It CERTAINLY would not take 4 months for a 100 footer to make that same trip, and could certainly be done with delivery sails. Boats do not become "half fucked" from doing deliveries, unless the delivery crew are a bunch of idiots. Take a manual powered short-crewed 100' race boat to Australia via the Southern Ocean....your dead right it wouldn't be "half fucked"...it probably would be "fully fucked". Why would they go anywhere near the Southern Ocean? It's a lot longer way from Europe and against the prevailing winds from the East coast of the States

The guy employs the same people who builds the same helicopters the U.S. president flies in. Dya think they'd be wrong!?!? I think you will find he retired pre Rambler 100. Your point? That he no longer works for UTC who make the helicopters Where did I say he was employing them through UT? If you have a cutting edge boat and a few hundred engineers in your Rolodex do you really think you won't be calling them for their input? Ok point taken.

Yes retired from working. Any boat is a potential winner but they have to enter first you fuck wit!

Dude, it's a classic Swan. One do just not cut a classic Swan in half. And that's one of his least stupid comments

Perhaps you could get these guys to drop in and show them all the way home? http://www.spindrift-racing.com/jules-verne/en/live Umpy your in the wrong room.....down the corridor, its the door marked Pitchpoling Picklefuckers...and you only go in there unless you already have caught the dreaded "ménage à multi" disease. Fuck at least "ménage à woxi" is curable. But the annual homage to woxi, which spends 6 months of the year in a shed being chopped and rebuilt for one race is getting so boring now. Which bit is original?Comanche is certainly the way to go. I'm certainly not addicted to multis, but you have to admire them. Can't remember seeing one when I was in Sydney for the SOLAS and Hobart 2 years ago. At least they get to come and play in the Fastnet, which I seem to recall had 400 entrants this year, not the 100 Max for the Hobart! 1. Why start a pissing contest between the Hobart and the Fastnet - 2 of the worlds great races, but both different. Just enjoy both. 2. This is a thread about WOXI - if you are bored, why read it? WOXI is a developing racing platform, same as Comanche. Both owners are investing buckets of $$ and pushing the design envelope, but in different directions. Again, if that is of no interest, why read the thread? To me, and apparently a lot of others, both programs are interesting for what the are doing Was purely trying to inject a bit of humour and fun to the thread and Jack rose like a salmon and took the bait!! Not decrying the race or the boat.

wow thats great ... we don't have that many people in the whole of the Bay Of Islands ! .. I didn't think that Poms liked sailing that much You forget that Portsmouth is on the Solent, the home of English yachting and it wouldn't surprise me if there is close to that many boats around the area. I'm probably wrong with that figure, but there are thousands of boats in the area. Portsmouth is also not far from London by road or train.
