What's a fair price for this boat?

Nice looking race boat. I think the ding would be the cruiser part of racer/cruiser, with no v-berth and minimal interior. Best of luck on the sale.

    Are Mount Gay Hats Cool?

I threw away about a dozen that were sitting in the back of a cabinet, unworn, about 2 months ago. It was time to purge and they went. I don't have the patience for ebay, but maybe I should have gone fishing.

    Radio controlled sailing

Our club had 60+ DF95's purchased and show up in the past few weeks. Now it's all bowsies and leech trim.

    Team NYYC

I'm really looking to the remake of the movie "Wind", where the 'womp' is when the boat splats on the water and nearly sinks, and then in the fairy tale ending, it gets put back together and wins the day. LOL Great job by the Italians, and I expect that we will see more than 4 races in the Prada Cup finals.

    Fulcrum Speedworks Rocket

Clarks, I must say that you have drawn and built a very handsome small boat. A couple of them would be great to have and zoom around on during the Summer.

That would be a sight to see. I'm sure you have it safely tucked away in the video vault.

    What is this?

I had the opportunity to sail on this boat in the late 90's when MacLaurin had it in Marina del Rey. It was fun to rip around on, and I remember a capsize when the mainsheet got tangled during a gybe. It was good to be younger and able to hang onto the wing mesh until the boat got pulled back up. It took a pile of people and a chase boat back then.

    J35 Companionway Hatch Slider Channel

Years ago when re-fitting a J24, we replaced the cracked plastic hatch channels with aluminum square-U channels that we sourced at Home Depot. We put a chamfer on the top edge to reduce the chance of slicing hands or spinnakers on them.

8 Bells. Ken Havard. Boatman, Racer and Diver.

I am floored to read this. I just saw Kenny over the weekend walking around the yard/club, and I have always gone out of my way to say hi when I have seen him. I spent a couple of seasons sitting beside him on the rail in the S35's in my first big keelboat fleets out of school. I am really sorry to hear of the passing of such a kind soul.

Ericson 35? Ed is mooching for pickle dishes

I read a few of your blog posts. Scot lucked out with this purchase, if he had to buy an Ericson 35 MkII, he bought the right one.

Ericson 35? Ed is mooching for pickle dishes

Did you paint the wooden toe rails white, or did plastic toe rails get installed? I like the look, and I think SD Bay is a great place for a boat like yours. I'm not so sure about outside, but I think it will be great inside, and if you make the trek to Catalina.

    san diego open for sailing?

I took the Laser out this weekend, and put my son in an RS Tera here in Los Angeles. It was great to get back out on the water, and we poked our bows out onto the ocean Sunday, when it was less windy.

Annapolis Racing- Looking for Tips & Tricks

Late September there is a good chance that you will get frontal driven weather, so pay attention to the tides and current in addition to the wind. If all else fails, my recommendation is to head to BWI, get on airplane, fly to a destination with good sailing conditions.

    how it went down

This could be Ben Mitchell's 3rd or 4th Hanson rescue medal. He's been in the right place to save lives. It's great that the teams both made it safely back to shore.

Steve Cockerill (Rooster Sailing, multi-class champion) posted a video of how to re-run the rigging controls to top-side. Lots of details on lengths and spliced loops.

That's probably her. Pretty looking boat, and stands out from the crowd on that mooring.

    J/125s Are AWESOME

What is the name of the J/125 moored off of Dollar Point, north Lake Tahoe?
  21. I love it for Jimmy. It's going to be great at the islands, not bad on the ICW, and fit his list of requests. Put an Eisenglass enclosure at the aft of the pilot house, crank up the A/C, and crack a beer....mmm have a margarita. If the aux props were foldable or could be retracted, even better.

Lasers - Applying a Blow Torch

It's in the Dec 2014 Laser World - it's at the very bottom of the table - they've used the same format for years. The figures are: 2014 US$850,444 2013 US$832,599 2012 £547,696 (British pounds) 2011 £635,482 (British pounds) Last two figures were posted in Dec 2012 Laser World, first two in Dec 2014. I'm pretty sure I have the report in a printed copy of Laser World that has it, but it's stored in a box many miles away from where I am right now. It's easy enough to look up, it will be in the Dec 2007 issue from memory. Also from memory it was higher than £100,000, fairly sure it was in the region of £400,000, as I recall discussing the amount around 2009. (I can't believe I remember this stuff.) I can recall a Laser sailing mate asking "what's it needed for?", and it being referred to as 'Jeff Martin's war chest'. It's fair to say that the ILCA is in pretty good shape financially. Pretty good shape? Understatement! What other Class Association even comes close to that amount? War chest? Did Jeff know this was battle coming way back when? Helps me understand why Rastegar would want to setup his own parallel, separate "Laser Sailing Union". That is quite a revenue stream.

Looks good. Nice job J/Boats. Any idea what happened next? Mark rounding, or was this a pre-race tune-up?
