We/re in lockdown so perusing the sites. I see Nips was on offer but showing as llisted again. Beachball still for sale. Avalanche looks best. IRC of 1.15 seems low. But looking at the photos it might be detuned for sail area? Of the Sydney 38s has 1 gone.? - I can never pronounce it's name

150+ Junior dinghy sailors in Auckland racing this weekend prior to the Prada Cup finals which are late afternoon NZ time.. -
My book shelf is a far better place due to his efforts. And Barracuda was the coolest boat around in its day. A great loss.

I think Stingray is confusing Race Mgt boats which are actually the ETNZ big boats. As we were motoring back in after the race they both came out flat chat. Based on the photos they were bigger than anything else alongside and I'm sure were welcomed by AM.

They were on the edge of the puff in the tack. It was way more than 20kn. A minute later when LR showed up it might have gotten back down to 20kn but my recollection was it was still higher than that. And yes, I was at the top mark.

TC - They were way different in their roundings. AM went in hot and it was a whiparound and then skywards launch. LR sat the boat down and either got organised or worked out whether they were going to stop per SIs or keep going and then relaunched. Plus even in the minute later the line squall had settled. AM tacked right in the front edge of the squall. That said, the approaching rain line was really obvious,

In front of the Volvo 70 in the Transat race. Impressive. Redman had rudder issues but was already behind.

Broken prod according to the latest race press release.

Surprised it hung around so long. Still went quicker than Yeah Baby and a few of the 52s. AFAIK only SMB and Hooligan sold?

I thought the crowd on Sunday was pretty good. There were big issues around the cable area, but that was well forecast to the Marshalls early in the day. Coming home was also very good. Probably the best I've seen considering the numbers of boats.

Our family is with Mpac. Orchard is in Te Puna. I'll be down there next week

Looks like a nice day for a yacht.

Agreed, but the Azzuro 34 is the Sydney tailender benchmark. Hence my comment. I'm told an1104 needs stability upgrades to comply - so a new keel. 1020 would be better / cheaper for the campaign. Know of any? :-)

Alcatraz has just dropped off Trade Me. Sold or decided to go Christmas cruising? I read the Tazzy Devil E10.5 sold too. All go in NZ. Spearhead 1050 ex CYC and then modded in NZ listed with good gear at $150k.

Normal yachts drifting around on a summer's day. ETNZ comes cruising down the harbour near Tamaki Drive at 30+ knots. Awesome to watch. I see thay have closed all the Tamaki Drive parking for the weekend. Duh! However free buses on Saturday

Not disagreeing but my ballpark will be somewhere between a Cookson 39 and an S&S34 and it will be a lowball one at that!

Today was a trial day - official practice for all PRO, mark teams as well as the sailors. The Paddock is a decent run from the main marinas and the city - 10 NM aprox. Even in non peak it is getting on for an hour drive by car.

That ketch didn't have booms on Saturday. New Leisure furls or a refurb?. Looks like they are setting up the main too.

Sail-World reports ETNZ went for a sail around Waiheke yesterday. There can be a few good waves on the outside in an Nor-Easterly. An excellent proving sail and well away from prying eyes.

Hey LA - did you have Liquid Asset the 7m Williams? If so what happened to that? For the old timers, long term lurkers, Liquid Asset was built by Nigel Rippey who also built Supergroove an 8m Dibley now in the UK.

Done a bit. An earlier Glenn Asby

Smaller motor but with a 3 blader folder could be the option. Gori is nicest, but maxprop, brunton, and they look silly but the volvo folder works well. -
With slow boats once you know what works you can replicate it any time. The trick is to learn what works without getting it horribly wrong in the learning. Here endith the lesson.

IMX40 Nips came up. Nice al rounder in it's day. Would need a big birthday though. What was the reason for being parked up so long?
