      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

Typically harbormasters are employees of whatever entity owns the marina, be it public or private. They are not, however, LEOs. The Harbormaster in Redondo Beach/King Harbor, California is part of the Redondo Beach Fire Department... not an LEO? Firefighters are not typically Law Enforcement Officers.

I doubt even the HR clan is foolish enough to try that until the thing can at least move under its own power. People keep calling it a "boat," but I think a prerequisite to being a boat is that it can move under its own power. Until then, its a barge. I doubt FH will ever move under its own power, hence its never leaving. We'll see. The sailplan of FH is complete. It has sails and might be expected to move under its own power once out of the treacherous SF Bay winds and currents and into the umm, pacific Pacific. The FH's Builder and Master has a plan and I've seen nothing to suggest that the plan has changed.Well, let's see: HR is still in jail. Even with their great success today, I doubt if FH goes anywhere until HR clears up his issues and gets back on FH. California has a suburb catch and release program going on. The Feds have demanded that CA release yet more. Doubt that HR will remain incarcerated long.

WTF are you talking about? Sausalito? Those "floating shitholes" are probably worth more than your gross earnings for the next 50 years.

The FH hasn't sunk, they are clearly getting better at moving her in adverse conditions. They are one ebb from Sea. Planned next stop is San Diego so major provisions are not yet a concern. SF Bay has not been welcoming. Perhaps they will simply slip out on the next ebb. Since that was only a couple of hours ago, perhaps they are already gone. . .

HR is Bound for Sea. He has always maintained that the open ocean was his goal en-route to SD then HI. He fought a flood tide and opposing winds to reach an anchorage one ebb from the Gate. All he has to do now to realize his dream is raise anchor. . .

Richmond it is! It would be far more serious if it was an actual pan pan call. Not so sure about the severity of a 'pon pon' call... However, there is plenty of shit to run into between Tiburon and Richmond... Like the breakwater! Would it be worthy of a pan pan if the FH was breaking apart? Yes, probably. But what exactly is a pon pon call anyway... PAN is pronnounced pon. There is only Mayday, PAN, and Securite'

When I made a visit to the 'cat', there was no obvious way to get it to the water from where it sits. I think the Left Coast Lifter is available. Perhaps he can borrow that.
