      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

  5. Older well known IOR Boats

Thanks everyone for the mention. Most of this stuff never saw the light of day at the time and I hate the thought that it will just die in a draw. I post with the idea that it will bring a smile to someone's face. I'll look for the Acadia stuff. Do you have a sail number. A scratch sheet with names and sail numbers would be a great help digging this stuff out.

Okay, i'll ask, whats that on the winch drum? Just the beginnings of the idea of a self tailer. If you look closely, there is a knurled friction spot near the bottom of the winch drum. That would spin a wheel on the device and turn the two vertical gripers that the tail end was passed through.

Jon Wright and Tom Whidden. Which boat? edit: High Roler? Good question. I've got another 9 rolls of negs to digitize. I'll try to figure it out with the dockside deck layouts shots. Thanks for identifying Jon Wright...

Why 359 downloads to the guy up the mast photo? It's by far the most popular photo. What's the reason?
  15. Some of my old sailing photos 2

The guy with the magnifier was just spoofing for a Japanese journalist that was interviewing the crew. And in keeping with SA tradition, do you think the guy chatting up the lady got to take off his Line7's that night?
