      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

  1. as stated above. just relax, it will be ok.
  2. nice
  3. express 37 That Farr 39 ML/CR would be a good boat for it.
  4. I would clean it up, paint it and make sure to keep the shaft clean and zinc'ed. Lots of life left on the strut. Make sure your cutless bearing is good.
  5. this sounds so familiar.
  6. yes, they are very forgiving boats to sail. I love mine. And back to barber hauling: If you run guys for your spin off of the tee bar on the rail, they make very quick and easy barber haulers. Just slide them to where you want them and transfer the genoa sheet over to the guy. Have made some big gains doing this a couple of times.
  7. sense of humor much?
  8. someone more motivated then you...
  9. impressive. Good to see someone has gotten el cap done.
  10. My trip is canx'ed so I no longer need a ride. Thanks for reading.
  11. I am going to be in Washington DC the last two weeks in June. I am looking for a crewing opportunity on June 24th. I own and race a J-35 (the Boss) in the Seattle area. I can accomplish most jobs at an above average capacity. Drop me a message if you are looking for crew. I am also planning on walking the docks on Tuesday evenings (June 20th and 27th) at the Washington Sailing Marina for the weeknight racing. Had really good luck doing that that back in 2014. If something has changed recently in the racing schedule or if you know you want crew those days, please let me know. Thanks, chad
  12. Did a Southern Straights out of Vancouver last year and hit 5 logs during the night and narrowly missed a few more. Before that night, I had only hit 2 logs in 10 years...
  13. Replicant, welcome to the club. I own the 'the Boss' out of Brownsville. If you are looking for local races, check out the Jim Depue Memorial out of Port Madison Yacht Club (Feb 25th). Will be 2-4 other J-35s out for it. chad
  14. I saw a couple of boats without nav lights. Do not know which ones but it is on the creepy side seeing a black form pass in front of you minus lights...
