      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

  1. Artemis?

I noticed a big change in the size of the top element tho. I wouldn't,t be surprised if there 2nd wing is a straight forward two element wing
  2. Artemis?

Does anyone know what the purpose of the backward c shapes are on the mainwing behind the thick point? They are so they can get in to inspect the forestay and 0 ram and halyard. If you get a photo etnz's wing on day 1 or two and a photo of it now you will see many different access windows have been cut
  3. Artemis?

Where did u get that from? Any pics Move it to the etnz thread

So in the real world ar already have 12days of testing with there wing on the tri . I think some of you get Boner at the smallest piece of nipple. For a bunch of ppl that like to think u "know it all" you cant see the forest for the trees. I'm more interested in the form of ar's wing compared to TNz and or's . Very different concept with much largerFwd spar cord measurement than the others. And just to set this whole kiwibashing thing to the recycle bin. We're in every team. At every level . Like it or lump it. 80% of or and 80% of lr were made here and there are a more than a few kiwis in ar as well. So trying my best not to say suck eggs............suck eggs.

yeah the hydraulic part is a funny one... how much pressure can a set of grinders get up to .. the twist in nzl wing is a giveaway. i just think that is this form of board usable.. with the weight constrants bring so tight. the systems needed to add that much weight with the bearing and hydaulic controlls that it also does not allow the pitch control that the "box" boards have. its only going to get more interesting. loick 's comments in the ac uncovered 55 were very .... leeding.
  7. Artemis?

does anyone ( who has a clue )know that this system will work.. artemis and team korea are the only boats left to show. boat 1 ( LR 1 is a carbon copy of nzl) http://www.sail-world.com/USA/Americas-Cup:-Hinged-foils-approved-by-Measurement-Committee/101999 the only thing being that hydro' gets its records at about 120-140 and has both boards in the water ( not allowed under the ac rules )

etnz have this on there SL33's.. its the handle you will see dean pumping as he's helming the sl's. he was pretty open about the hydraulic system when they had there open day. i would say everyone will have a hydraulic pump system .it would also account for etnz extra grinding pedestals. its all just the first round of smoke and mirrors . wait until the second/ third generation of wings come out . Not sure how you come up with 'extra' as the ratio of winches to pedestals is infinite, but there is a pretty good indication of hydraulic use on NZ#1 IMO - in the apparent lack of lever arm length for the flaps. i can quarantee u there is hydraulics. the fact that those leaver arms are not carbon either means those loads must big . hint. see if you can get a close up of nz1's wing base
  9. Artemis?

Those aren't gills. They're vertical Hulas (HHulae). Only a NZ team can have them. If any other team had them it would be cheating, but since Kiwis can not cheat it isn't cheating if done by Kiwis.... maybe you will find a hula on artemis. considering it was his idea to start with http://artemis-racing.americascup.com/team/management/tom-schnackenberg

i just want to see their wing/ foils . the hull configuration is kinda set ( for the first platform anyway ) .but the wings and the twisting components will be the part that the teams will be able to tweek the most. we've seen in many ac and luis v cups that a faster boat will lose because of a bad/out of range configuration. etnz have this on there SL33's.. its the handle you will see dean pumping as he's helming the sl's. he was pretty open about the hydraulic system when they had there open day. i would say everyone will have a hydraulic pump system .it would also account for etnz extra grinding pedestals. its all just the first round of smoke and mirrors . wait until the second/ third generation of wings come out .
