      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

  1. Why no Multihull division for the Sydney Hobart?

Always wasn't, not so long ago flag officers were 'qualified for election ' by part owning an Etchels. See how you go taking one of those to Hobart.

So much for that superstition, although the boat in the pic is certainly not Balance https://twitter.com/BatemansBayPost/status/682331458128617473

As there's only around a 2 hour difference, and given their roles as first and second white settlements, I'm going for port Jackson

So could they have mitigated at the time by taking a penalty as per bay racing? Not having a copy of RRS19.2 or the SI's in front of me. 20.1 BEFORE CLEARING TURNING MARKS Z AND Y. (a) For an infringement of Part 2 of the RRS that occurs after the Preparatory Signal and prior to the boat clearing the relevant seamark (Mark Z/ Mark Y), the Two Turns Penalty under RRS 44.2 shall apply. Except of course Ark323 was damaged

Ragamuffin 52 - after a protest hearing a time penalty of 20% was applied under SI 20.1( for failing to comply with RRS 19.2( in an incident with ARK 323 shortly after the start
  6. 2015 Sydney to Hobart

Yep, Ark323, came all the way from China on her own bottom just to be wiped out before the start

Yeah, looking way too volatile Lydia, maybe some wacky combo of current and since start VMG ???
  9. 2015 Sydney to Hobart

Correct sentiment, but I think the calculation is based on VMG to date into distance to go, so a llittle better but still a dart board.

The skipper-a-clipper crowd are doing their well known brown's cows impression, heading to all points of the compass

Soldini being furthest east now on a flyer, has pulled 6 miles back on Comanche in quick order

The further East you are the later the change hits, and the later the change hits the more West there is in it, front runners might stay out
