      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

  1. iirc, (from reading john bertrands' autobiography) he took his first name from his pet dog! Correct and Lexcen was his wife's maiden name right?
  2. And the Lexcen 40s up in the Whitsundays
  3. He also did a couple of joggie boats affectionately called ironing boards. Anyone remember what they were called? BTW does anyone know where the changed name came from i.e. Ben?
  4. Is Philosphers measured for IRC with all these mods? Sounds like it is no longer of the same design year!
  5. That's what Bruce Nelson told me. Also sailed under JOG in Oz. I believe Street Fighter was one. Good performer in light to medium airs but the Dubios Half Tonners were better in stronger winds e.g. Public Nuisance and Beach Inspector.
  6. HCW That looks like the Mount Gay 30 Cuckoos Nest (great former owner) up against the Ross 830 and it is level pegging. Was this far into the race?.
  7. The 830 we had was a National champ in JOG Div 2. We did do a lot of mods to it to make it go upwind. Downwind with 7/8ths kite and strong conditions we would go as fast as the Mount Gay 30's. They are an absolute buzz at above 16 kns!. I reckon they plane like a Mumm 30 in such conditions. The 780 looks a bit less sail area to displacement though so may not be as much fun downhill.
