  1. Hi all, Hoping to get some advice on how best to clean the spars on my J70. It's Southern Spars, not Selden, if that matters. We keep the rig covered when not in use but over time it has become more of a chalky grey color with fingerprints and water spots. I have tried 303, cleaner wax, and acetone. Would it damage the paint to use something more aggressive like a compound, polish, or wet sand? I'm guessing the paint is pretty porous since every time it's wet or freshly cleaned it looks brand new but will go back to that chalky gray overnight. Thank you, Tony
