That must have been what that box of inverted anuses was aboot.
  8. Firstly, please everybody stop quoting Jack in his entirety, a snip will do. That's no way to push up the page count. Jack, fair play has rarely had a better warrior, you have done her proud under extreme pressure. Upshot is the quants won't get away with that or something similar as easily in future. The AIS rules will be sorted which IMHO is a good result. All eyes will be on MR's every move in future which is is also OK, IMHO.

    Nice little boat.
  10. Thankfully Jack you will lead us to water. It's been a long drove. Maybe we are a dying breed who still believe in competition.

I saw a box of meat recently, seriously branded " Pork anuses (inverted)"! It made me wonder what inverting them did to improve the experience?

Isn't that the Warhol version, very limited production run not very reliable for cross ocean provisioning.

It's almost enough to put you off going off shore.

    Retirement boat dreaming.

Yes you would want to pick your weather for that trip. I can't find any total displacement figures so its hard to get a handle on ballast ratios. 1200kgs approx in the keel and another 100kg in the centerboard. Plus an oversized donk for a boat this size and nearly 400L of fuel and water. None of the reports I have seen show any concern in this department and most were done in 10-20 under full main and headsail. Len's own description attached. I guess at some point I am going to need to go for a sail on one.

Part of the issue is we won't know for a few more months how much will be in the boat kitty so at the moment it's just monitoring the market for what might work for us and seeing whats on the table when the time comes. I really like these Randell 33's as a minimalist approach. Reported to sail quite well with the added bonus of some decent horsepower and inside steering. The interiors are pretty basic but for 2 could be repurposed for the job. Downside not many built and hold high prices. The underwater profile is very similar to our current boat with the exception of the CB. https://yachthub.com/list/yachts-for-sale/used/sail-monohulls/randall-33-motorsailer-randell-33-motor-sailor/230281

Reevesby Is in the Banks group isn't too shabby either. It's like the Whitsundays minus the crowds.
