    VOR '17-'18 - THE GAME

After a very good start and a solid 2 NM advantage over the top SAers, I lost it all and even more a few minutes after the first mark. So I had to give up chasing in this quick and short leg. Many many thanks to the scorekeepers for your amazing job. Kapt'n Kirk: congrats !!! You have a well deserved 2nd place on the SA podium. Well done mate. Time now for some holidays. See you all !!

I did it !!! Really hard to follow your wake for the las two days, less than a mile ahead of me but impossible to cut just a meter on you. I've been steering almost 20 out of 24 hours crossing your stern in search for the best wind to gain half a knot. Finally I managed it going a bit to leeward for a better angle in the last hour.

You did a great race this time, keep pushing till the end, there is still a wind shift to go.

    VOR '17-'18 - THE GAME

What a way to fuck everything up ... 4 AM and fighting against falling asleep, less than 0.5 miles to Gybe Turkey and catching, some other SAers just a mile behind and not willing to forgive any error. So I decided to fine tune my boat for max speed instead of using waypoints. I knew there was a wind upgrade in an hour, some adjusting would be necessary. I set up an alarm at 5 AM +2 thinking about UTC time (unnecessary, my mind was already sleeping)... The result: 1000 positions loss, back from #4 to #15 in SA leaderboard, working hard 16 whole days to end up grounded 2 miles from the finish line. Seriously considering to abandon... Shit !!!

VOR Leg 7 Auckland to Itajai

I wake up with the same feeling I went to bed last night: taking the decission to head away, not knowing where he is but knowing he really is there, must be terrific. A lump in the throat. My condolences.

It's easy. First set the time, then decide if you want TWA or heading by closing the lock (TWA) or left it open (Heading). Then set desired TWA/Heading. Repeat for every programmation point you want to set up.

I'm 111 overall. I still have to understand how the hell does VR calculate the leaderboard. Anyway, I must improve in regularity terms.
