      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

He mentioned their anchor line is 3/8". . . . So they should be fine.

So did you use full cloth over all the hull surfaces? Or just fiberglass tape over the seams? Just trying to get a fix on how the FH is built.

HR'FH -- thanks for posting here. Can you clarify about the glass on your hulls? Is it just over the plywood panel seams, or did you use full cloth sheathing? As others have posted, 3/8" CDX is not happy when wet. If you have ever seen a scrap of it left out in the weather, it begins to peel apart after one rainfall. So even if you epoxy painted but didn't glass the exterior of the hulls, you'll start getting micro cracks in that coating from flex and temperature changes and impacts. Then water gets into the CDX, and swells the wood and begins to dissolve its non-waterproof glue. My hope for you is you'll get to keep the FH afloat as a nice big houseboat up the Delta somewhere peaceful. But for even that to work, and for the hulls to last beyond a few months, you would need full glass cloth + epoxy sheathing, several layers. You would need to haul her asap and do it. Not cheap, but much cheaper than losing the whole boat. Good luck to you guys.
