Hello SA, this is the new J-111 plugs - being built now..This boat has really powerful aft sections and will be a rocketship on the reaches..With 7 ft. Draft, it should more than hold its own upwind and when it turns the corner, watch out...double digits downwind easily....Look forward to seeing the J-111 on the water soon,

thank you,

Sailorman007 - Hemet, Calif.

No offense meant to you. I just am not used to obnoxious remarks..ok.. i really enjoy reading SA every day, and had a great time with the OTW During the Melges RAces in Annapolis - i followed that every day and talked with some really good people at OTW During the races. I know Annapolis and the Ches. Bay quite well..Raced Yankee Girl, Running Tide there a long time ago - also, Bandit, owned by Al Van Meter, and Beau..sailed there alot many years ago and lived on the Eastern Shore at Lippincott Marina for 5 and a half years. ok.. I came to SA to talk with Sailors and mates..ok.

thank you,

the Sailorman

.

J-111?

6 better than the J-105?

No, J's are rated on a low-point system. The J/22 and J/24 are by far the best (OK, maybe most plentiful?) one-design racers. It goes up/down from there.

Hello, I really miss sailing on the ches. bay. It was really fun, but I don't miss the shallow water when sailing with deep draft boats. Go to bump and tack - thats something we don't do in Calif. Sailing...lol.. thats just weird...ok... Charlie Scott first told me about that and the J-35 i sailed with the Sobstad boys...it took a little getting used to for a Calif. Sailor...ok.. just pivot the boat on the keel right....hmmm. sounds a little strange to me. but it sort of works..huh..?

Well, have a great evening mates...

thanks,

The Sailorman.

Hemet, Calif.

ps: sorry i did not read the other blogs first, but i have been talking to Alan J. about the boat for 3 mos. and saw it the first day it was posted. ok.. thanks, LS.

Hey SM,

Are you the same guy who called me about the 36.7 and sometimes crews on a Catalina 36 here in San Diego?

Hello,

Sorry, it was not me. But after I get a new hip, I would like to go sailing in San Diego.. Please feel free to email me at lloydstowe@yahoo.com ok.. I will be in the Hospital at Loma Linda Univ. getting a new Hip from Feb 10th - then to Rehab for 4 weeks or so...not sure yet. but will be checking my emails ok.. I started sailing here in So.Cal. in the late 1960's out of CYC in MDR - Back when there was a Cal 40 /row at CYC - if you remember that...wow...long time ago...many waves under the keel huh.? We went on a run with a new Ericson 35 # 1 - "Starfire" and won most of the races for 2 yrs....that was fun racing against Dick Deaver and crews from that era. Then on to a Cal 40 - "Moonday" for the Whitney series - then off to the Army for a while... then sailed 7 consecutive SORC 'S with many different boats - pro on La Forza del Destino, Running tide, Yankee Girl, Beau Geste, Tyche - Bermuda race, and various Isla de Mujeres races and Jamaica races... really miss the ocean races now... For the past 4 yrs, my racing has been a little bit sketchy. ( with a bad hip ) Farr 40 - driver...for 4 races...then alot of Cat sailing with my good friend - Randy Reynolds...on his R33. ( i know SA has history with him but i think that is all good now. i hope ok ) everyone has to get along in this world now.. I really like Sailing Anarchy and read it constantly - almost every day.

After the Sorc's - i came back to the West Coast , Newport Beach and got a real job with the Computer Industry for 7 yrs...said thats enuf, back to boat...lol

well, feel free to contact me any time and after the new hip, I would love to come down to San diego and do some sailing..

Thank you very much,

Les Stowe - the Sailorman.
