I've had tons of questions on this as it seems there is concern that the AC site is going to meltdown. Best thing to do as a back up is to go to a place like www.justin.tv for a tv stream of the AC. Be mindful of the copyright laws in your country.

BOR Web Streaming - thank you BOR. With additional programing not on AC site

BOR Live Stream Program - they have vids when not live too.

- "Race Day" consists of several blocks of live programming, bringing an unprecedented, live, behind-the-scenes look at the team to sailing fans worldwide:

- The Dock-Out Show – watch the team prepare for battle as they leave for the race course.

- The Morning Show – an insider’s look at the history of the America’s Cup, the 33rd edition of the oldest trophy in sports, and BMW ORACLE Racing, live from the Oracle Cinema at the Team Base.

- The Pre-Race Show – news and analysis ahead of the racing.

- The 33rd America’s Cup Match – we will then carry the official live feed from the Host Broadcaster, bringing you all of the action from the race course. Racing is scheduled to start with a 10:00 warning signal ahead of the 10:06 start gun.

- The Post-Race Show – analysis of what happened on the race course, featuring expert commentary.

- The Dock-In Show – cheer on the American challenger as the team returns to shore following the race.

i think the stream has some security. i used the 'replay media catcher' the other day (before the ac site needed you to install their player) and it worked. not now though.

Take a look at a product called FREECORDER - which will handle audio only, although it "may" do video. I haven't had time to fool with it. Basically the audo grabs anything coming from your speaker. Comapny has other products for $$$ - but by the time you buy, event will be over.

The only way to get it on TV in USA is to connect your TV to your computer and watch the internet feed.

Another recording type question. Will anyone or organization be recording and uploading the feed so say I can have it play back in the bar at 7pm? I've scanned the Americas cup and BOR websites and haven’t found anything. Right now I'm just assuming that one of them will have it.

The other day I experimented with a number of screen capture utilities.

The only one I found that was very stable and with a decent playback picture was DesktopVideoRecorder from Mediaccurate. It does not do sound, unless you can use a microphone on your desk.

But the file sizes are just HUGE and unless you're a gamer with a cryogenic cooled quad motherboard hyperdrive pc on a fiber optic connection, your computer will overheat and die long before the race is over...

I just watched a replay of race one at ESPN 360.

The video fee is slightly different than the Americascup.com.

The good news is at ESPN Randy Smyth is a technical commentator and he knows what is talking about.

The fact is these two boats are the fastest sailboats on the planet and BMWO has the big advantage of the Wingsail.

If BMWO still had their wing mast /soft sail rig these boats would be very even.

Alinghi 5 can go three times wind speed...don't put down this boat, however BMWO is about 5-10% faster because of

the Wingsail.

The bitch is this Wingsail will buy Larry a monohull...

Set the Wayback Machine to the past...

Pity.

I have built wingmasts for twenty five years and a Wingsail will win ever time.

History note:

In 1988 there where two 60' STARS & STRIPES catamarans one with wing mast + soft sail one with Wingsail...the

Wingsail won every time they spared and was much more reliable.

I know! Those photographs make me Need a puppy as well as kitten and so bad! And I do believe that extra enlightened medical doctors do advise patients to acquire a pet, and lots of long time period care facilities attend "pet therapy". But there should definitely be MORE in this happening!
