The turning point would be 68.  The 73 5mph bumper and smog regs made subsequent cars not only dogs, ugly dogs. The 70 1/2 Camaro/Firebirds excepted. 687368736873See the source image

A good mate of mine has one of these bad boiz. Yellow. Almost opposite site of the world from where it was built. His comment was “Noice... is a C3 but rubber bumpers and small block only ... but still called a Stingray (name dropped in 1976) therefore that is a 1974 or 1975. (3 thumbs up)”  :-)

Thanks again Hobs. The lens fooled me for a sec. Pre A 356  I'm guessing this is an early 52?

I have never seen a throwing platform, but some clubs probably still have those handles.

Barbie Benton, I believe, Hugh Hefner's main squeeze for a number of years.

Playmates back then all looked like sisters from the worlds biggest family of girls.

Hefner had very narrow and specialized taste in women.

We had enough kids our age in the very near neighborhood that we could assemble 3 or 4 sets into one monster track and have great racing all Saturday.

Well, there is a resemblance...and not all of Hefner's girls were blondes back when we all read the magazine for the articles.

There's a similar color pic of Marty Smith doing the same. As a kid, Roger was one of my heroes.

Mid seventies a group of us young enlisted guys graduated programming school for the Air Force

Couple of us were assigned to Military Airlift Command, but basically wrote code for the Pentagon and other DoD organizations, and were stationed in Washington DC.

Our buddy Jimmi was assigned to Tactical Air Command.  Poor SOB supported a new test system to integrate some forward tactical radar system..

Anyways Jimmi sends us a message saying he had been in Bumfuk-Nowhere deep in the desert where it is 115 degrees, getting eaten alive by sand fleas, chiggers etc while trying to keep a computer functioning in the heat while shaking out bugs in the code.
It is a Friday afternoon and they are so far out, he has to stay out there over the weekend even though there is no testing going on.

So he is sweating his ass off cursing military life when all the sudden this motorcycle comes blowing over the rise.

It is Marty Smith out on a desert ride.  He invites Jimmi over to his motorhome for a coupe cold ones when he is done for the day.

Jimmi goes over, Marty hands him a cold one, introduces him to some of the buddies with him and offers up a chair like a long lost friend.

Ended up spending the weekend with them.

Even though I was a Suzuki man, Marty was the guy I was rooting for after that..

Sorry to hear about his death. RIP Marty...

Did you read her tweet.

Thank you so much for all the well-wishes on my 18th birthday! Tonight you will find me down at the local pub exposing all the dark secrets behind the climate- and school strike conspiracy and my evil handlers who can no longer control me! I am free at last!!

Me too.  Wasn't it Carbon life cycle meets Nitrogen Life cycle??  Yet they both spoke English?

Now where do I remember it from?  Twilight Zone, or somewhere else?
