      A Few Simple Rules   05/22/2017

Sailing Anarchy is a very lightly moderated site. This is by design, to afford a more free atmosphere for discussion. There are plenty of sailing forums you can go to where swearing isn't allowed, confrontation is squelched and, and you can have a moderator finger-wag at you for your attitude. SA tries to avoid that and allow for more adult behavior without moderators editing your posts and whacking knuckles with rulers. We don't have a long list of published "thou shalt nots" either, and this is by design. Too many absolute rules paints us into too many corners. So check the Terms of Service - there IS language there about certain types of behavior that is not permitted. We interpret that lightly and permit a lot of latitude, but we DO reserve the right to take action when something is too extreme to tolerate (too racist, graphic, violent, misogynistic, etc.). Yes, that is subjective, but it allows us discretion. Avoiding a laundry list of rules allows for freedom; don't abuse it. However there ARE a few basic rules that will earn you a suspension, and apparently a brief refresher is in order. 1) Allegations of pedophilia - there is no tolerance for this. So if you make allegations, jokes, innuendo or suggestions about child molestation, child pornography, abuse or inappropriate behavior with minors etc. about someone on this board you will get a time out. This is pretty much automatic; this behavior can have real world effect and is not acceptable. Obviously the subject is not banned when discussion of it is apropos, e.g. talking about an item in the news for instance. But allegations or references directed at or about another poster is verboten. 2) Outing people - providing real world identifiable information about users on the forums who prefer to remain anonymous. Yes, some of us post with our real names - not a problem to use them. However many do NOT, and if you find out someone's name keep it to yourself, first or last. This also goes for other identifying information too - employer information etc. You don't need too many pieces of data to figure out who someone really is these days. Depending on severity you might get anything from a scolding to a suspension - so don't do it. I know it can be confusing sometimes for newcomers, as SA has been around almost twenty years and there are some people that throw their real names around and their current Display Name may not match the name they have out in the public. But if in doubt, you don't want to accidentally out some one so use caution, even if it's a personal friend of yours in real life. 3) Posting While Suspended - If you've earned a timeout (these are fairly rare and hard to get), please observe the suspension. If you create a new account (a "Sock Puppet") and return to the forums to post with it before your suspension is up you WILL get more time added to your original suspension and lose your Socks. This behavior may result a permanent ban, since it shows you have zero respect for the few rules we have and the moderating team that is tasked with supporting them. Check the Terms of Service you agreed to; they apply to the individual agreeing, not the account you created, so don't try to Sea Lawyer us if you get caught. Just don't do it. Those are the three that will almost certainly get you into some trouble. IF YOU SEE SOMEONE DO ONE OF THESE THINGS, please do the following: Refrain from quoting the offending text, it makes the thread cleanup a pain in the rear Press the Report button; it is by far the best way to notify Admins as we will get e-mails. Calling out for Admins in the middle of threads, sending us PM's, etc. - there is no guarantee we will get those in a timely fashion. There are multiple Moderators in multiple time zones around the world, and anyone one of us can handle the Report and all of us will be notified about it. But if you PM one Mod directly and he's off line, the problem will get dealt with much more slowly. Other behaviors that you might want to think twice before doing include: Intentionally disrupting threads and discussions repeatedly. Off topic/content free trolling in threads to disrupt dialog Stalking users around the forums with the intent to disrupt content and discussion Repeated posting of overly graphic or scatological porn content. There are plenty web sites for you to get your freak on, don't do it here. And a brief note to Newbies... No, we will not ban people or censor them for dropping F-bombs on you, using foul language, etc. so please don't report it when one of our members gives you a greeting you may find shocking. We do our best not to censor content here and playing swearword police is not in our job descriptions. Sailing Anarchy is more like a bar than a classroom, so handle it like you would meeting someone a little coarse - don't look for the teacher. Thanks.

Too bad the rest of the NFL teams don't seem to agree with you - If someone thought he had a realistic "starting qb" potential, they would have outbid the low price that the Jets paid.

What, were you expecting Yankees fans to be respectable for something?

Not commenting on their ability to be respectful. Just commenting on how he isn't likely to be treated as kindly as he was in Denver.

Understand, that's tebow's raison d'etre!

He's not interested in football nearly a much as using football to convey his faith to unbelievers.

Sanchez will probably stink up the joint, they'll throw in tebow who could very well take them deep into the playoffs because he's difficult to defend, and in the process he'll get a bunch of New Yorkers to start thinkin' Jesus.

He views himself as a missionary, and the heathens of NYC are his dream assignment.

As for Manning, I can't see him having the kind of success here that he had in Indy., what made him so good was his football intelligence, he could alert and change his offense on the fly. But these guys in Denver are new to him, it takes years to build that up.

Are you the single biggest dipshit to come out of the Gator lifetime fanclub?

You hopeless, ignorant, convoluted fanboy, with fewer functioning logical neurons than a catatonic crack-addicted lab rat.

If you had even a single segment of your diseased mind that hadn't been anesthetized into obsolescence by your unending river of cheap wanna-be frat boy cherry wine coolers, a single congruent thought would have entered that twisted-up neurological nightmare in your skull and reminded you that in fact I have been a Tebow-SUPPORTER since this thread started.

But in typical homage to the uselessness of your squirrel-meat powered logic center, this fact of course escaped you.

More stupidity from the king of the disused intellect. I had supported Tebow from long before the beginning of this thread, and was impressed by his outstanding athleticism even back when he was still in college and my school knocked the tears out of his noggin.

As for you "schooling" me on Manning, perhaps you would be willing to make a friendly wager? Oh wait, you swore those off after your Buccaneers burned themselves to holy hell.

You apparently know as much about the NFL as the gerbil you have imprisoned in your colon.

Your lack of intelligence is so compelling that I may decide to join my fellow SAers in pissing on the memory of the last genetically malfeatured sperm on Earth capable of helping to form a fetus so perfectly devoid of higher reasoning that turned into you.

Your body odor is that of good French sheep stomach cheese and likely the cause of the stink that has permeated Griffin Stadium for the last few years. If you truly love Gator Football as much as you claim you will deign to wrap yourself with an odor impermeable membrane and throw yourself back into the dungeon below your condo where posterity can only hope to forget that you lived on this continent and in this century.

BG,

Help me with the math. The Broncos drafted him with what? The 22nd or so overall pick? And what did they get in trade? A fifth round draft pick and some cash towards his advance. So every GM in football that could have had him with a fourth round draft pick and possibly a few dollars chose not to and you still think he walks on water? And from what I understand, Revis did worse on the Wonderlic test than Tebow. I hear they've bonded in the locker room reading Dick and Jane books to each other.

Smoking cheap dope dumbshit.

Just amazing. There is the off-season with training camps, practice games, etc. to go and the I HATE TIM crowd is out and about. You guys need to get a life. If you're a Jet Fan, and I'm not, then you best be pulling for him to bring some positive energy to an obviously dysfunctional team. I think he will. He ins't the ANSWER, but he is a positive force to be dealt with. I wish him nothing but GOOD LUCK. He'll need it in NY. Revis kinda likes his attitude. That's a good start for that group. Revis is no slouch.

Livin the Dream.......

Tebow used on punt protection, also throws 2 picks

The Sports Xchange 3:20 p.m. CDT, May 24, 2012

Mark Sanchez looks stronger and healthy, New York Jets coach Rex Ryan said. But all eyes at the Jets' first organized team activity open to the media were on the backup quarterback.

Tim Tebow often appeared a step behind in the team's seven-on-seven drills and threw two interceptions on plays he later said were brand new. Linebacker Bart Scott, who drew praise from Ryan for “being Bart Scott” again, intercepted Tebow's first pass and free-agent newcomer Yeremiah Bell snagged the other, which was also floated over the middle.

“It's definitely frustrating,” Tebow said. “But it's seven-on-seven. Those plays were the first time I ran them. So I'll learn from it. Honestly, it won't bother me again. When you make the bad play, you got to put it behind you and move on. I felt like I did.

Tebow later practiced as the up man in the punt formation, a role he said will be fun, and the Jets discussed with him in great detail. It adds the run-pass threat for protection teams, but also means Tebow has to block and tackle.

Tebow's college coach, Urban Meyer, was in town to take in the practice and Tebow said they had dinner Wednesday night.

Sanchez, the team's embattled starter, opened eyes with a long 75-yard touchdown to rookie Stephen Hill, who zipped past Kyle Wilson easily. Ryan said after practice that Sanchez's arm is stronger than ever. While Tebow said the practice had a competitive vibe, Sanchez was relaxed and appears prepared to spend the season under the microscope.

”(Tebow's) popularity drives a lot of that,“ Sanchez said. ”At the same time, I wouldn't be in this position if I couldn't handle it. And I'm prepared for it."

good, thats where he belongs. it will be years, if ever, before he makes a start in the NFL, and probably not at QB.

to paraphrase an NFL analyst i was watching:

tebow is a big athletic guy who lacks decision making skills and accuracy

This most still makes me laugh

Tebow is a gifted athlete who polarizes fans and has a legion of people who expect more out of a rookie than one can usually provide.

His demotion has more to do with the problems of the Denver organization than with him. His rookie stats last year were good, and not indicative of someone who lacks decision making and accuracy. His demotion is a sign -- in my opinion -- that they intend to keep him around long enough.to raise his value for a trade, give his next team the feeling that he was brought up the right way, almost as if this will be his real rookie season, and last year was an aberration that needs to be buried, which it sort of was

But don't think that someone leaves a very expensive car in the mud before they're ready to sell it. Tebow is too valuable for that.

I could care less of course, because the NFL's main purpose in my view is to keep most of the bandwagoneers away from the NHL.

He has 7th round pick skills at QB. If any other team trades for him it will be either a 7th round pick they give up, or a bag of balls and a replacement wheel for the jugs machine.

Very imaginative, except this bears little correspondence to his last season stats.

Yeah, I get that lots of folks hate him, but if he was an unknown out of Utah State with his combine results and stats he would be considered a promising hopeful instead of an overrated has-been.

And as for the statement about him not being able to read formations, that comes with experience, it's rarely innate. I think DDE is right about the Panthers, that would be a much better fit for him.

He is not a QB in the NFL. I thought he had a chance, but I don't think so any more. If he is willing to be a fullback or a tight end, I think he could have a career. But no team is willing to dress him as the #2 QB in case the starter gets hurt, or do they dress him and don't designate him as a QB, and take a spot from another position and weaken their special teams by taking up a roster spot on a guy who is only going in for short yardage?

There's gold in this thread..

Seeing that Tebow vastly out played Manning when one compares their Frosh seasons it's likely they would cut him (manning) to save salary cap

I seriously wonder if you are able to keep a straight face when you post something this ridiculous.

Fuck it, I'll go. It's cold and raining out and I already have a headache so who cares.

How was Manning's second season compared to Timmy's? Did he ride the pine as a third string only used on one trick play as a WR instead of a QB?

This is unfair, the season isn't over yet. There will be plenty of chances for Tebow to be put into the line up.

As a WR on trick plays

Another nugget..

Dominating on the Punt team??

Nope dominating in the red zone as in the send Sanchez off and then Tebow runs or throws for a td. Sanchez isn't going to like that one bit. Tebow starts game 5 or earlier.

Do you really think anyone cares if the donkeys win outside of denver?? Manning or not they are gonna get smoked. The Teeblow thing was a fluke on par with Seattle beating the Saints in 2011.

Why would the story be teeblow?? 80% of the orange and blue weren't drinking the donkey kool-aid after the season was over especially the guy that counts. Elway could not get him out of here fast enough. So tell me again, asside from the ultra christian, virgin, preacher, pro life and other angles outside of football, why the story is gonna be teeblow??

the real story will be if Tebow outplays the 5th round pick he was traded for. Then the folks in Denver will say they should have held out for a 4th rounder.

That reminded me of something.

The best stiff-arm of the year...at maybe the decade.

We were rounding the fixed mark at Duwamish Head in Elliott Bay when we heard what we thought was a jet. It was the crowd at Qwest Field during that run - 2.5 miles away.

of note

it's more entertaining when your home team makes it to the Red Zone before choking

than to have a team that would Bust Through the Red Zone but chokes prior to the 50 yd line

Boomer says: "Cut Tim Tebow!"

http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2012/08/06/boomer-esiasons-memo-to-jets-cut-tim-tebow/

“All you have to do is watch him throw the ball,” said Esiason. “Just watch him.”

“You can say whatever you want about Tim Tebow,” said Esiason. “He played some of the worst football that any quarterback has ever played in the history of the game last year at times.”

Yeah he said that before last season too. Tebow replaced the loser orton and took the broncos to the playoffs

One interesting game in this upcoming shitshow, 10/14, Colts-Jets, hopefully Tim Tebow vs. Andrew Luck, at least for a quarter or two.

As gifted as is Tebow, Luck is on a different plane.

I used to think Tebow was one of the greatest qbs on the college surface. But then I saw Andrew Luck, and he suddenly made Tebow seem a bit one-dimensional in comparison. I still think Tebow works harder than most anyone, but Luck us just the embodiment of unrestrained talent. Watching what he does with that ball is both terrifying and majestic.

Tebow impresses with two deep td strikes at jets camp. Sanchez seen drinking heavily after practice..

http://sports.yahoo....28906--nfl.html

Wow, 2 whole snaps with the first string offense.

Yeah, Tebow can do things like that. And then turn around and look worse than a middle school quarterback. He makes Rex Grossman look like a model of consistency.

2 reps two 50+ yard td's one against cromartie.

I'd like to see the qb rating on that.

Ryan put Tebow in for the plays because Sanchez was excelling in the third-down period and wanted to give Tebow an opportunity.

''I said, 'Hey, let's throw Tim in there,''' Ryan said. ''The kid (Sanchez) can't get any hotter than he is, he's feeling good, he's champing at the bit, and he's like, 'I need the reps.' Yeah, yeah, yeah. ... Let's see the other guy.''

Tebow and Ryan laughed about how the quarterback did it to the Jets' defense again on the touchdown toss to Turner.

''That time, he threw it,'' a smiling Ryan said. ''You can live with a guy throwing it. You can't live with a guy running it in there.''

Tebow eluded linebacker Bart Scott - something Ryan was unsure would have been the case in a real game with contact -

Off topic but Peyton had a tough outing goes 4-7 and pic sixed by major wright (gator)

The pic six didn't do any good by the look of it.

Final score was 31-3, Denver wins.

Chicago must have missed the extra point and then kicked a reverse field goal latter in the game. I guess they must have kicked it the wrong way through the uprights or something.

If I could get to a TV it would be fun to watch Tebow go head to head with Dalton tonight.

Except of course he won't, since the STARTERS will play the first quarter and the Jets have made it pretty clear that Tebow ain't that. So Dalton will probably be on the sidelines, done for the day and talking plays with Gruden & Lewis before Tebow ever takes a snap.

Tebow probably will see a lot of playing time in he second half with the other scrubs and rookies that are trying to hold on to a 2nd or 3rd string job or earn a place with the team.

That kid's a football player. If they can use him in spots so he isn't all beat up at the end of the year, he can contribute. Maybe in a couple of years he will be able to throw well consistently. Never know.

Denver could be dangerous this year. That defense, relieved of the burden, is likely to be even better.

Poor bus driver he misses me so.

Sanchez looked horrible but the real problem for the jets is a pathetic running attack (ex Tebow) and a shitty defense....
