      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

J120 race sails - For Sale

Recommended Posts

We recently bought K2 down in Annapolis with plans to do mostly cruising. I don't know the complete history of the boat, but she was very competitive on Lake Champlain and was trucked to Key West at least twice, where she won her class once. From what I've heard the boat was very competitive and I'm assuming that was in some part due to good sails.

We just went through all of the sails and below are the one's I think would be better for someone else. Maybe you want some back ups for a Bermuda race, or these would be good beer can sails to save your new sails, or an nice upgrade from dacron.

#3, Doyle Carbon/Kevlar - $750 obo

#1, Doyle Carbon/Kevlar - $900 obo

#1, Doyle GPL Carbon, Light - $900 obo

Main, Doyle Carbon/Kevlar - $900 obo

0.6oz, 165 m^2 yellow spinnaker, has had a big repair, but newer cloth - $750 obo

0.5oz, 165 m^2 red & white spinnaker - $900 obo

All of these sails are circa 2001-2005. They were great sails when they were new, maybe "grand prix" sails at the time, but they are all well used now. They've been stored the last 2 years in the Doyle Chesapeake loft, well bricked and all. I would suspect the carbon sails would need some leech repairs (around the spreader patches for instance).

If you are interested please PM me or contact Chuck O'Malley at Chesapeake Sailmakers (410)263-4840. I would suggest contacting Chuck for an honest assessment and/or if you want to view the sails in his loft.

Thanks.

One more shot at getting rid of these last 3 sails.

#1, Doyle Carbon/Kevlar - $500 obo

#1, Doyle GPL Carbon, Light - $500 obo

Main, Doyle Carbon/Kevlar - $500 obo

I'm quite sure these would be far better sails than any dacron or cruising sail you might have and they would certainly make good beer can sails or backups for ocean racing.

Thanks.
