      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

I seriously doubt it.

I have surfed in an 120,000 pound boat, so I suspect a HC-33 can surf.

It only takes BIG waves and a hell of a lot of wind.

(We had 25 foot waves and 50 knots, gusting 70......don't want to ever do that again!!)

clearly in that second pic, the waves about the break and the HC is going for the tube.

either that or someone is being funny with the camera angle

Camera angle adds considerable drama. Very effective:

I'm not sure it counts if you sails are down.

Wonder how big of an outboard it would take to get it into the 4th mode.

Kinda hard on the steering gear. When you get up to surfing speeds you have to be very quick on the helm to avoid broaching. That steering gear, chains, cable, quadrants, rudder shaft, etc. is getting double or triple work out. Every bit of rocking port or starboard changes which way the boat wants to go and a rapid correction is needed to prevent a broach. In the big waves, you also get a fair amount of over revving on the engine.
