      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

ft10 crew positions?

3 posts in this topic

I've recently purchased an ft10 as a posible training boat for Yachting NSW keelboat scheme and additionally we're looking to form up a racing crew for personal use.

I'm looking for a breakdown of crew roles for respective positions so we create incorrect habbits that would be hard to break later.

Is it right to assume the following/correct names are-- Skipper, Main trimmer, Headsail trimmer, Kite trimmer, Pit, Mast/Sewer, foredeck?

The break down roles i'm mainly looking for are for Pit, Mast/sewer and foredeck however, any further advise for all positions would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the Sydney Tiger fleet, Topsides! Your positions are pretty spot on. We don't use a Mast (just a foredecky) and for general sailing on AUS66 we hoist/drop down the back hatch rather than the front (so no Sewer). For W/L racing we do drop down the front (some Tigers always hoist/drop down front) so a Sewer is used. Generally we sail with 6 but often 5 or 7. 6 is comfy especially for OD racing where there is a weight limit (614kg total) and our crew tend towards a more manly, fuller figure...

We have an FT10 North Sails Coaching Day out of RASNA on the 6th of October. Good opportunity to meet the other Tiger owners. Super 30s our of SASC is another good way to get some experience racing the Tiger. There are 5+ Tigers racing in the Super 30s Gold Cup. Other stuff is planned (e.g. Balmain Regatta 28th Oct - Tiger OD Div) I'll contact you with details.
