      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

end for end splice (running back)

4 posts in this topic

I posted a question about end for end splices in the "fix it" forum, but I think the gear forum is more appropriate. (Actually I found a similar question in the fix it forum, but it got little response).

looking to splice tails on runners.... Have high mod core with cover (large diameter) that needs to splice "end to end" with small diameter double braid. In my case, it appears that the small diameter double braid is also a high mod core (not that it needs to be).

I have an existing old one but don't want to ruin it by ripping it apart....

See additional pics in the other thread!

I have 60 foot runner tails that I made with 60 feet of cover and used 35 feet of high end core leaving the rest empty. these replaced a large to small diameter splice that got caught in the clutch. I will do the exact same when I need to replace, works great.

... usually the tails on runners are made with a polypro single braid so you can tuck the cover of the runner into the tail's hollow.

Hope that helps.

Expose the core in the large line and cut off about 6 inches.

Expose the core in the smaller line and feed about 2 inches of the small core up the large core, whip through both core.

Milk the small cover down to the large core, whip in place.

Milk large cover over the lot and whip end in place.

Did this plenty of times and tested it to handle more than my weight (85kg) so as it is only a tail to pull on (not take load) I never had an issue.
