      Abbreviated rules   07/28/2017

Underdawg did an excellent job of explaining the rules.  Here's the simplified version: Don't insinuate Pedo.  Warning and or timeout for a first offense.  PermaFlick for any subsequent offenses Don't out members.  See above for penalties.  Caveat:  if you have ever used your own real name or personal information here on the forums since, like, ever - it doesn't count and you are fair game. If you see spam posts, report it to the mods.  We do not hang out in every thread 24/7 If you see any of the above, report it to the mods by hitting the Report button in the offending post.   We do not take action for foul language, off-subject content, or abusive behavior unless it escalates to persistent stalking.  There may be times that we might warn someone or flick someone for something particularly egregious.  There is no standard, we will know it when we see it.  If you continually report things that do not fall into rules #1 or 2 above, you may very well get a timeout yourself for annoying the Mods with repeated whining.  Use your best judgement. Warnings, timeouts, suspensions and flicks are arbitrary and capricious.  Deal with it.  Welcome to anarchy.   If you are a newbie, there are unwritten rules to adhere to.  They will be explained to you soon enough.

‘Filthy’ yacht chef rocks boat: gal

A “dirty” chef is serving up food to members of an exclusive Long Island yacht club — and harassment in the kitchen — an ex-bar manager claims.

Chef Ramon Lourido boasted to Centerport Yacht Club colleagues that he wore no underwear in the kitchen — and to prove it, he pulled down his pants and grabbed his crotch, according to a harassment complaint filed yesterday with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Lourido then continued preparing the food, said the papers filed by prominent lawyers Michael Borrelli and Alexander Coleman on behalf of bar manager Ruth Krais, a 34-year-old single mom, who quit in June.

“It was absolutely disgusting,” she told The Post. “But nothing out of the ordinary . . . He wasn’t shy about it.”

The chef, who’s worked at the club for 14 years, said, “There’s nothing to any of this.”

I just do not understand why he pulled down his pants to prove he was not wearing underwear. All my co-workers just take my word that I am not. I guess my co-workers have trust in me.

If he did stir the soup with his cock, I don't see him doing anything wrong.

South Shore and standards should be part of the same sentence. Unless you are referencing low standards, but even the you're insulting those with low standards.

Of course I was referring to low standards. There's a reason why we're called south shore scum. Look at me, I'm a huge scumbag. You can take the kid out of West Babylon but you can't take West Babylon out of the kid.

Sorry for the thread Hijack - but it seemed like a chance not to be missed.

$64K question - If new to Long Island, living in Happauge, where can I go to get hooked up with some racing in the spring - grew up sailing PHRF and OD on the Chesapeake. Looking for a casual program, not too crazed, but some skillz.

It's a 12 Step Program

  1. Buy a comfortable center console with stereo and large cooler for beer
  2. Find a program in CT or Westchester that will have you
  3. Commute across the sound to sail Wednesdays & Fridays in the summer...or whatever the schedule may be
  4. Wake up on a couch in the Junior clubhouse on Saturday morning after too many cocktails
  5. Do some real regattas with them in the Summer and Fall
  6. Realize it was a mistake to move to Long Island
  7. Put your house in Hauppauge on the market
  8. Start looking at houses in CT or Westchester
  9. Put an offer in on a nice home
  10. Sail some regattas in the spring
  11. Close on your old home and new home
  12. Move the fuck out of Long Island

Centerport YC is not far away, Huntington Bay is probably your best bet. Northport YC and Centerport YC have ensigns and J/24 and star boats. and Lloyd Harbor YC runs the local PHRF stuff . Lots of good people and good programs always looking for people.

At least West Islip is waterfront. The only water in West Babylon is at the sewage treatment plant or behind Wal-Mart.

Not so much a school but more of a meeting place to figure out where we were going to drink beer, smoke weed, light fires and boost cars once the teachers let us loose.

the owner of the bike shop just ordered some sails. I think the upstairs is now his zodiac inflatable showroom

Nice. I bought a bunch o bikes from him back in the day. What does he sail?

As I thought more about my younger days I realized it wasn't above the bike shop we hung out, it was above the music store that was next door. There was a "studio" above that the owner rented out. We got in for $300 for the whole winter. It had heat, light an padded walls. It probably still smells of weed to this day.
